Hello my good fellows,
My Bosch SGI45M25EU86 dishwasher has ceased functioning, and I’d like to address the issue myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this model, or can help me out, I’d really be grateful. When I try to start a wash, nothing happens: no lights or sounds, and no water flows. It just stopped mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some support to troubleshoot it. Please don't share the operating manual, I already have it and it’s not informative.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I experienced a comparable issue with my Bosch SGI45M25EU86 dishwasher a few weeks ago, and I discovered a detailed service guide online. It features step-by-step directions, wiring schematics, and troubleshooting hints. Here’s the URL, I found it on a blog on reddit :

Hi, assistance needed please I too have a Bosch SGI45M25EU86 dishwasher, and I got the service manual mentioned above. Could someone clarify how to test the electrical supply and what parts to test initially? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the wiring diagrams. Any suggestions would be great!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hello, I’m experiencing trouble with my appliance too. I checked the power supply, and the outlet, evrything is fine, but there’s no voltage at the terminal block. According to the wiring diagram in the manual, I expect to have 120V there, right? How do I test the control board? Is my dishwasher completely faulty? The fuses seem fine, I checked it with a multimeter. Any ideas? 🤔

I believe my appliance has an electrical problem because it isn't starting. I’m not very skilled with repairs, but I’m willing to give it a shot. I have a current tester and some basic equipment. Can anyone help me on where to begin? I’ve heard the mainboard, motor, or door switch could be the issue. Any suggestions would be helpful, can provide model number if required!

Avoid jumping into changing parts right away. Depending on the problem, the method to diagnosing issues may differ. Sometimes, devices are recalled, and you can simply let the manufacturer handle everything. Does your dishwasher have issues with the screen, lights, or makes noises? Start with the basics by checking the power supply, latch, and mainboard. It’s important to move step by step instead of quickly replacing parts like the mainboard or motor. First, verify if the appliance is powered on. It’s as simple as that. Also, check the latch and fuse. If you’re a complete beginner in dishwasher repair, it might be safer to call a service center to avoid causing more issues, even if it costs a little extra. They can quickly identify the issue and find the faulty part. Then, it’s up to you whether you decide to fix it yourself. (A tip: always disconnect the dishwasher before trying to repair it).

Here’s my preferred checklist for troubleshooting a malfunctioning dishwasher: Power Supply: Check the dishwasher is receiving power. Check the outlet and connection point too. Latch: Test for continuity. A broken wire can prevent the dishwasher from starting. Fuse: Check if it’s damaged. Replace it if needed. Mainboard: Examine for obvious damage or disconnected connections. Pump and Pump: Check for continuity and ensure they’re functioning properly.
