Hello friends,
My Bosch SGI46E46EP14 dishwasher has quit working, and I’d like to address the problem myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this appliance, or can guide me, I’d really be thankful. When I try to start a cycle, nothing happens: no lights, no water flow, and no sounds. It just failed mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some advice to get it working again. Please don't share the user manual, I already have it and it’s not informative.
Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I experienced a similar issue with my Bosch SGI46E46EP14 dishwasher a few weeks ago, and I discovered a detailed service manual online. It includes step-by-step directions, wiring schematics, and troubleshooting tips. Here’s the URL, I found it on a blog through reddit :

Hi, assistance required please I too have a Bosch SGI46E46EP14 dishwasher, and I downloaded the service manual shared above. Could anyone explain how to test the power supply and what parts to test initially? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the electrical schematics. Any suggestions would be great!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hi, I’m having trouble with my dishwasher too. I checked the electrical supply, and the outlet, evrything is working, but there’s no power at the terminal block. According to the schematic in the pdf, I should have 120V there, right? How do I test the mainboard? Is my appliance completely dead? The fuse seem fine, I tested it with a multimeter. Any ideas? 🤔

I think my appliance has an electrical problem because it won’t start at all. I’m not very skilled with repairs, but I’m open to give it a try. I have a current tester and some simple tools. Can someone help me on where to start? I’ve heard the control board, motor, or door mechanism could be the problem. Any advice would be helpful, can provide model number if required!

Avoid jumping into changing parts right away. Depending on the issue, the method to troubleshooting malfunctions may differ. Sometimes, devices are recalled for safety, and you can simply allow the company handle everything. Does your appliance have problems with the display, indicators, or makes sounds? Start with the fundamentals by checking the power supply, latch, and control board. It’s important to move step by step instead of hastily replacing parts like the mainboard or motor. First, check if the appliance is getting power. It’s as simple as that. Also, inspect the latch and thermal fuse. If you’re a complete beginner in appliance repair, it might be better to call a service center to avoid causing more issues, even if it costs a bit more. They can easily identify the issue and identify the broken part. Then, it’s up to you whether you decide to replace it yourself. (A tip: always unplug the appliance before working on it).

I think I damaged my dishwasher heating element while trying to replace the water valve. Now it won’t warm up at all while running. Is it likely I caused more damage? Something’s not right. I grabbed the Bosch SGI46E46EP14 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll help me figure out what went wrong. Hoping for the best...

This is my preferred checklist for troubleshooting a malfunctioning dishwasher: Power Supply: Verify the dishwasher is receiving power. Check the socket and connection point too. Door Switch: Check for continuity. A faulty switch can prevent the dishwasher from working. Thermal Fuse: Check if it’s damaged. Replace it if necessary. Control Board: Examine for obvious damage or loose connections. Motor and Motor: Test for continuity and ensure they’re working properly.
