Hi all, My Bosch SGS43B42EE99 dishwasher has quit working, and I’d like to fix the problem myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this appliance, or can help me out, I’d really appreciate it. When I try to start a cycle, nothing happens: no lights, sounds, or water flow. It just shut down mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some help to resolve the issue. Please don't share the owner's manual, I already have it and it’s not useful. Thanks in advance for any advice!

I have had a similar issue with my Bosch SGS43B42EE99 dishwasher a few months ago, and I discovered a comprehensive service manual online. It features detailed directions, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic hints. Here’s the URL, I discovered it on a blog through reddit :
Hello, assistance needed please I also have a Bosch SGS43B42EE99 dishwasher, and I downloaded the repair guide mentioned above. Could someone clarify how to test the power supply and what parts to test initially? I’m a bit confused by the wiring diagrams. Any advice would be appreciated!
Start by checking the basics:
1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model).
2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter.
3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.
Hello, I’m having trouble with my dishwasher too. I inspected the electrical supply, and the socket, evrything is working, but there’s no power at the connection point. According to the wiring diagram in the pdf, I expect to have 120V there, right? How do I test the control board? Is my appliance totally dead? The fuse seem good, I checked it with a multimeter. Any suggestions? 🤔
I think my dishwasher has an electrical problem because it won’t start at all. I’m not very tech savvy with fixing things, but I’m willing to give it a shot. I have a multimeter and some basic tools. Can anyone guide me on how to start? I’ve heard the control board, motor, or door switch could be the issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated, can provide serial number if needed!
Don't jump into replacing parts right away. Depending on the issue, the method to diagnosing issues may vary. Sometimes, devices are recalled, and you can simply let the manufacturer handle the repair.
Does your dishwasher have issues with the display, lights, or makes noises? Start with the basics by checking the electrical connection, latch, and mainboard.
It’s important to move step by step instead of hastily replacing parts like the control board or pump. First, verify if the dishwasher is powered on. It’s as simple as that. Also, check the latch and fuse.
If you’re a total beginner in dishwasher repair, it might be safer to call a service center to avoid causing more damage, even if it costs a bit more. They can easily diagnose the problem and identify the faulty part. Then, it’s up to you whether you decide to replace it yourself. (A piece of advice: always disconnect the appliance before trying to repair it).
I believe I damaged my dishwasher heating element while trying to swap the water valve. Now it won’t warm up at all while operating. Is it likely I caused more issues? Something’s not right.
I grabbed the Bosch SGS43B42EE99 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll assist me figure out what went wrong. Fingers crossed...
This is my checklist for diagnosing a faulty dishwasher:
Electrical Supply: Check the dishwasher is getting power. Check the socket and terminal block as well.
Door Switch: Test for continuity. A broken switch can stop the dishwasher from starting.
Fuse: Check if it’s damaged. Replace it if necessary.
Control Board: Inspect for visible damage or disconnected connections.
Pump and Motor: Test for continuity and confirm they’re working properly.
