Hi friends,
My Bosch SGS4522EU15 dishwasher has quit working, and I’d like to troubleshoot the problem myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this machine, or can help me out, I’d really value it. When I try to start a wash, nothing happens: no lights, no sounds, no water flow. It just quit mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some advice to troubleshoot it. Please don't share the owner's manual, I already have it and it’s not informative.
Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I have had a similar issue with my Bosch SGS4522EU15 dishwasher a few months ago, and I discovered a comprehensive service manual online. It includes detailed instructions, electrical schematics, and troubleshooting hints. Here’s the URL, I found it on a blog through a subreddit :

Hi, assistance needed please I also have a Bosch SGS4522EU15 dishwasher, and I downloaded the service manual shared above. Could someone explain how to test the electrical supply and what parts to inspect first? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the wiring schematics. Any suggestions would be great!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hello, I’m experiencing trouble with my appliance too. I inspected the electrical supply, and the socket, evrything is working, but there’s no voltage at the terminal block. According to the wiring diagram in the book, I expect to have 120V there, correct? How do I test the control board? Is my appliance completely dead? The fuse seem good, I checked it with a voltage meter. Any ideas? 🤔

I believe my dishwasher has an electrical problem because it won’t start at all. I’m not very experienced with repairs, but I’m willing to give it a shot. I have a multimeter and some simple equipment. Can anyone help me on how to begin? I’ve heard the control board, motor, or door switch could be the issue. Any advice would be helpful, can provide serial number if needed!

Avoid jumping into replacing parts immediately. Depending on the issue, the method to troubleshooting issues may vary. Sometimes, devices are recalled for safety, and you can simply let the company handle everything. Does your appliance have issues with the display, lights, or makes sounds? Start with the fundamentals by inspecting the power supply, latch, and control board. It’s important to proceed step by step instead of hastily replacing parts like the mainboard or motor. First, check if the appliance is powered on. It’s as simple as that. Also, check the door switch and thermal fuse. If you’re a complete beginner in appliance repair, it might be safer to call a repair shop to avoid causing more damage, even if it costs a little extra. They can quickly identify the problem and find the faulty part. Then, it’s up to you whether you want to fix it yourself. (A tip: always unplug the dishwasher before trying to repair it).

I believe I damaged my dishwasher heating element while trying to swap the water valve. Now it won’t heat at all while operating. Is it possible I caused more issues? Something’s not right. I grabbed the Bosch SGS4522EU15 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll help me figure out what went wrong. Fingers crossed...

Here’s my checklist for troubleshooting a faulty dishwasher: Power Supply: Check the dishwasher is getting power. Test the outlet and connection point as well. Latch: Test for continuity. A faulty switch can stop the dishwasher from starting. Thermal Fuse: Check if it’s blown. Replace it if needed. Mainboard: Inspect for obvious damage or loose connections. Pump and Pump: Test for continuity and confirm they’re functioning properly.
