Hello people,
My Bosch SGS5365MX15 dishwasher has broken down, and I’d like to diagnose the problem myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this unit, or can guide me, I’d really be thankful. When I try to start a cycle, nothing happens: no lights, sounds, or water flow. It just shut down mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some advice to repair it. Please don't share the user manual, I already have it and it’s not informative.
Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I experienced a comparable issue with my Bosch SGS5365MX15 dishwasher a few weeks ago, and I discovered a comprehensive service guide on the internet. It includes step-by-step instructions, electrical diagrams, and diagnostic hints. Here’s the URL, I discovered it on a blog through reddit :

Hi, assistance required please I too have a Bosch SGS5365MX15 dishwasher, and I got the repair guide mentioned above. Could someone explain how to test the electrical supply and what components to inspect initially? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the wiring schematics. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hi, I’m experiencing trouble with my appliance too. I checked the power supply, and the outlet, evrything is working, but there’s no power at the connection point. According to the schematic in the guide, I should have 120V there, right? How do I test the control board? Is my dishwasher completely faulty? The fuse seem fine, I checked it with a voltage meter. Any suggestions? 🤔

I think my dishwasher has an electrical issue because it won’t start at all. I’m not very tech savvy with fixing things, but I’m willing to give it a shot. I have a current tester and some simple equipment. Can anyone help me on where to start? I’ve heard the control board, motor, or door switch could be the issue. Any advice would be helpful, can provide model number if required!

Don't jump into changing parts right away. Depending on the problem, the method to diagnosing issues may differ. Sometimes, appliances are recalled, and you can simply let the company handle everything. Does your appliance have problems with the display, lights, or makes noises? Start with the basics by inspecting the electrical connection, door switch, and control board. It’s crucial to move step by step instead of hastily replacing parts like the control board or pump. First, verify if the appliance is getting power. It’s as simple as that. Also, inspect the latch and fuse. If you’re a total beginner in dishwasher repair, it might be safer to call a repair shop to avoid causing more issues, even if it costs a bit more. They can quickly diagnose the issue and find the broken part. Then, it’s your choice whether you want to replace it yourself. (A tip: always unplug the dishwasher prior to working on it).

I think I damaged my dishwasher heating element while trying to replace the water inlet valve. Now it doesn’t warm up at all while running. Is it possible I caused more issues? Something’s not right. I downloaded the Bosch SGS5365MX15 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll help me determine what went wrong. Fingers crossed...

Here’s my checklist for diagnosing a malfunctioning dishwasher: Electrical Supply: Check the dishwasher is getting power. Check the outlet and terminal block as well. Latch: Check for continuity. A broken switch can stop the dishwasher from working. Fuse: Check if it’s damaged. Replace it if needed. Control Board: Inspect for obvious damage or loose connections. Motor and Pump: Test for continuity and confirm they’re working properly.
