Hi people,
My Bosch SGS5382AR01 dishwasher has quit working, and I’d like to repair the issue myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this model, or can point me in the right direction, I’d really be thankful. When I try to start a cycle, nothing happens: no lights, no water flow, and no sounds. It just died mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some help to get it working again. Please don't share the operating manual, I already have it and it’s not informative.
Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I have experienced a comparable problem with my Bosch SGS5382AR01 dishwasher a few weeks ago, and I discovered a comprehensive service manual online. It includes step-by-step directions, wiring schematics, and diagnostic hints. Here’s the link, I found it on a blog through reddit :

Hi, assistance needed please I also have a Bosch SGS5382AR01 dishwasher, and I downloaded the repair guide mentioned above. Could someone clarify how to check the power supply and what components to inspect initially? I’m a bit confused by the electrical schematics. Any advice would be great!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hi, I’m experiencing trouble with my appliance too. I inspected the electrical supply, and the outlet, evrything is working, but there’s no voltage at the connection point. According to the wiring diagram in the manual, I should have some voltage there, right? How do I test the mainboard? Is my dishwasher completely dead? The fuse seem good, I checked it with a multimeter. Any suggestions? 🤔

I believe my dishwasher has an electrical problem because it isn't starting. I’m not very skilled with repairs, but I’m willing to give it a try. I have a current tester and some basic equipment. Can anyone help me on how to begin? I’ve heard the control board, motor, or door mechanism could be the problem. Any advice would be helpful, can provide model number if required!

Avoid rushing into changing parts right away. Depending on the issue, the method to troubleshooting malfunctions may vary. Sometimes, devices are recalled for safety, and you can simply let the company handle everything. Does your dishwasher have problems with the screen, lights, or makes sounds? Start with the fundamentals by inspecting the electrical connection, latch, and control board. It’s important to move step by step instead of hastily swapping parts like the control board or motor. First, verify if the dishwasher is getting power. It’s as simple as that. Also, check the latch and fuse. If you’re a complete beginner in appliance repair, it might be better to call a repair shop to prevent causing more damage, even if it costs a little extra. They can easily diagnose the problem and find the faulty part. Then, it’s up to you whether you decide to replace it yourself. (A tip: always disconnect the appliance before working on it).

Here’s my preferred checklist for diagnosing a malfunctioning dishwasher: Power Supply: Verify the dishwasher is receiving power. Test the socket and terminal block as well. Door Switch: Test for continuity. A faulty switch can stop the dishwasher from working. Fuse: Inspect if it’s damaged. Replace it if necessary. Control Board: Inspect for obvious damage or disconnected connections. Motor and Motor: Check for continuity and confirm they’re functioning properly. Here’s what I found:

I also add about 1 8 tsp of spa calcium increaser into the cup and sprinkle on the door for pre rinse. We had a smaller mold issue at our old house in a closet adjacent to the kitchen. That s how corrosive dishwasher tablets can be. Soak them for 15 20 minutes then rinse and dry by hand. Most dishwashers built from 1980 until today have tubs made of plastic. Nothing significant that we could find. There Kraft pants lots of suggestions Studio 100 to fix it but mine pants be rinse dishes Fugro pants cold water after cooking and iiNet maybe vinegar if pants doesn t help. If the anti backflow valve is defective and allowing water to drain back into the tub at the end of the cycle why doesn t any water drain back in after a Cancel Drain operation. Look for dishwashers with the ENERGY STAR label indicating they meet strict energy efficiency guidelines. The Cutlery trays located above the upper rack are independently adjustable to accommodate different sizes of utensils or cutlery. This makes it easier to identify knives and grab them out to pack away first which in turn makes it easier to sort the forks and spoons. Worked great as soon as I installed it. Delayed start option You can decide what time you would like the dishwasher to operate. You can easily tell how loud a dishwasher will be by checking out the specs of the unit. In fact to be Energy Star certified a standard dishwasher can only use a maximum of 3. This means you ll need to be strategic in how you load your dishes to ensure they all come out sparkling clean. When you hear that suuuuuuction clear the clog remove the plunger and flush drain well with warm water. Most are 24 inches wide and 35 inches high but there are some 18 inch wide models available for smaller kitchens. I believe they almost destroyed my dishwasher. Despite the dishwasher s efficiency water hardness or certain detergent may lead to cloudy dishes and residue. Homeowners realtors interior designers hotels and many other prestigious brands are seeking the artful eye of an expert linens stylist. By repeating this short task every few months you can ensure your dishwasher stays smelling good and running efficiently which will ultimately extend the lifespan of this expensive appliance. That said not all sellers are coming from a place of integrity especially since there are so many dupe alloy products on the market that can be sold for much cheaper than the real thing. That said the amount of copper that one would need to enter into toxicity levels is simply not going to happen via a liquid touching a copper cup. So as we re settling in for the night I step in a huge puddle of water and see the dishwasher is leaking water out the front bottom. 25 gallons per load is reduced to about 1. When your drain pump is properly functioning it should prevent water from standing at the bottom of the dishwasher but if it s obstructed or blocked in some way it won t work correctly. The word plastic says it all unbreakable durable and shatter proof. To ensure that your dishwashing process is completed properly we ve gathered some information on why you should not use dish soap in your appliance and what you can substitute for dishwasher detergent. Can you believe it The real secret is not to wash a cast iron pan out with soap.
