Hi folks,
My Bosch SGS690204 dishwasher has stopped working, and I’d like to fix the problem myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this appliance, or can point me in the right direction, I’d really appreciate it. When I try to start a wash, nothing happens: no lights, sounds, or water flow. It just died mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some assistance to get it working again. Please don't share the owner's manual, I already have it and it’s not helpful.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I have experienced a comparable problem with my Bosch SGS690204 dishwasher a few weeks ago, and I discovered a comprehensive service guide online. It features step-by-step directions, electrical diagrams, and troubleshooting hints. Here’s the link, I found it on a blog on a subreddit :

Hello, help needed please I also have a Bosch SGS690204 dishwasher, and I got the service guide shared above. Could anyone clarify how to test the power supply and what parts to inspect first? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the wiring diagrams. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hello, I’m experiencing trouble with my appliance too. I inspected the power supply, and the outlet, evrything is fine, but there’s no power at the terminal block. According to the wiring diagram in the manual, I should have some voltage there, correct? How do I test the control board? Is my appliance totally dead? The fuse seem good, I checked it with a multimeter. Any ideas? 🤔

I think my dishwasher has an electrical problem because it isn't starting. I’m not very tech savvy with repairs, but I’m willing to give it a try. I have a multimeter and some simple tools. Can anyone guide me on how to begin? I’ve heard the mainboard, pump, or door mechanism could be the problem. Any advice would be helpful, can provide serial number if required!

Don't jump into replacing parts right away. Depending on the issue, the method to troubleshooting malfunctions may differ. Sometimes, devices are recalled, and you can simply let the manufacturer handle everything. Does your appliance have issues with the display, indicators, or makes noises? Start with the fundamentals by inspecting the power supply, latch, and mainboard. It’s important to proceed step by step instead of quickly replacing parts like the mainboard or motor. First, verify if the dishwasher is getting power. It’s as easy as that. Also, check the latch and fuse. If you’re a total beginner in appliance repair, it might be safer to call a repair shop to avoid causing more issues, even if it costs a little extra. They can quickly diagnose the problem and find the broken part. Then, it’s your choice whether you want to replace it yourself. (A tip: always unplug the dishwasher prior to working on it).

I think I damaged my appliance heating element while trying to swap the water valve. Now it doesn’t warm up at all while operating. Is it likely I caused more issues? Something’s not right. I grabbed the Bosch SGS690204 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll help me determine what went wrong. Fingers crossed...

This is my preferred checklist for diagnosing a faulty dishwasher: Power Supply: Verify the dishwasher is receiving power. Check the socket and terminal block as well. Door Switch: Check for continuity. A faulty wire can prevent the dishwasher from starting. Fuse: Check if it’s blown. Swap it if necessary. Control Board: Examine for visible damage or disconnected connections. Pump and Pump: Check for continuity and ensure they’re working properly.
