Hello my good fellows,
My Bosch SGU4603EU17 dishwasher has stopped working, and I’d like to address the issue myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this appliance, or can provide some advice, I’d really be grateful. When I try to start a wash, nothing happens: no lights, no sounds, no water flow. It just failed mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some assistance to repair it. Please don't share the operating manual, I already have it and it’s not useful.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I have experienced a comparable problem with my Bosch SGU4603EU17 dishwasher a few weeks ago, and I discovered a comprehensive service guide on the internet. It includes detailed directions, electrical diagrams, and diagnostic tips. Here’s the link, I discovered it on a blog thanks to reddit :

Hello, assistance required please I also have a Bosch SGU4603EU17 dishwasher, and I downloaded the service guide shared above. Could someone explain how to test the power supply and what parts to inspect first? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the electrical diagrams. Any advice would be great!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hello, I’m experiencing trouble with my appliance too. I checked the power supply, and the outlet, evrything is working, but there’s no voltage at the terminal block. According to the schematic in the manual, I should have some voltage there, correct? How do I test the mainboard? Is my dishwasher totally dead? The fuses seem good, I checked it with a multimeter. Any suggestions? 🤔

I believe my dishwasher has an electrical issue because it isn't starting. I’m not very tech savvy with repairs, but I’m open to give it a shot. I have a multimeter and some simple tools. Can someone guide me on where to start? I’ve heard the control board, pump, or door switch could be the problem. Any advice would be helpful, can provide serial number if required!

Don't jump into replacing parts immediately. Depending on the problem, the method to troubleshooting malfunctions may differ. Sometimes, devices are recalled for safety, and you can simply let the company handle the repair. Does your appliance have issues with the display, lights, or makes noises? Start with the basics by checking the power supply, door switch, and mainboard. It’s important to proceed step by step instead of hastily replacing parts like the mainboard or motor. First, verify if the appliance is getting power. It’s as simple as that. Also, inspect the latch and fuse. If you’re a total beginner in dishwasher repair, it might be safer to call a repair shop to prevent causing more issues, even if it costs a bit more. They can quickly identify the problem and identify the broken part. Then, it’s up to you whether you decide to replace it yourself. (A tip: always disconnect the appliance before trying to repair it).

I think I damaged my appliance thermal resistance while trying to swap the water inlet valve. Now it doesn’t warm up at all while operating. Is it likely I caused more issues? Something’s not working properly. I downloaded the Bosch SGU4603EU17 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll assist me determine what went wrong. Fingers crossed...

Here’s my checklist for diagnosing a faulty dishwasher: Electrical Supply: Verify the dishwasher is getting power. Test the socket and connection point too. Door Switch: Test for continuity. A faulty wire can stop the dishwasher from working. Fuse: Inspect if it’s damaged. Replace it if necessary. Control Board: Examine for obvious damage or disconnected connections. Pump and Pump: Check for proper operation and ensure they’re working properly.
