Hi people,
My Bosch SGU49D05NL45 dishwasher has quit working, and I’d like to diagnose the problem myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this machine, or can guide me, I’d really thank you. When I try to start a washing cycle, nothing happens: no lights, sounds, or water flow. It just quit mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some help to resolve the issue. Please don't share the owner's manual, I already have it and it’s not useful.
Thanks in advance!

Hello, help needed please I too have a Bosch SGU49D05NL45 dishwasher, and I downloaded the service manual shared above. Could anyone clarify how to test the power supply and what parts to inspect initially? I’m a bit confused by the wiring diagrams. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hello, I’m having trouble with my appliance too. I inspected the electrical supply, and the socket, evrything is working, but there’s no voltage at the terminal block. According to the schematic in the manual, I should have some voltage there, right? How do I check the control board? Is my appliance totally non-functional? The fuse seem fine, I tested it with a voltage meter. Any ideas? 🤔

I think my appliance has an electrical problem because it isn't starting. I’m not very experienced with repairs, but I’m open to give it a shot. I have a current tester and some basic equipment. Can anyone guide me on how to begin? I’ve heard the mainboard, motor, or door mechanism could be the issue. Any suggestions would be helpful, can provide serial number if needed!

Don’t Rush into changing parts right away. Depending on the issue, the approach to diagnosing issues may vary. Sometimes, appliances are recalled for safety, and you can simply allow the manufacturer handle the repair. Does your appliance have issues with the display, lights, or makes sounds? Start with the fundamentals by inspecting the power supply, latch, and control board. It’s important to move step by step instead of quickly replacing parts like the control board or motor. First, verify if the dishwasher is getting power. It’s as easy as that. Also, inspect the door switch and thermal fuse. If you’re a total beginner in appliance repair, it might be safer to call a service center to prevent causing more issues, even if it costs a bit more. They can quickly diagnose the issue and identify the broken part. Then, it’s your choice whether you want to replace it yourself. (A piece of advice: always unplug the dishwasher before working on it).

Here’s my checklist for diagnosing a faulty dishwasher: Electrical Supply: Verify the dishwasher is receiving power. Test the socket and terminal block too. Latch: Test for continuity. A broken wire can stop the dishwasher from starting. Fuse: Check if it’s blown. Swap it if necessary. Control Board: Inspect for obvious damage or loose connections. Pump and Motor: Check for continuity and ensure they’re working properly.
