Hello friends, My Bosch SGV43A13EU38 dishwasher has stopped working, and I’d like to diagnose the issue myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this unit, or can guide me, I’d really be grateful. When I try to start a washing cycle, nothing happens: no lights, no sounds, no water flow. It just shut down mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some support to troubleshoot it. Please don't share the operating manual, I already have it and it’s not helpful. Thanks in advance!

I had a similar problem with my Bosch SGV43A13EU38 dishwasher a few months ago, and I discovered a detailed service manual on the internet. It features detailed directions, electrical diagrams, and troubleshooting hints. Here’s the link, I found it on a blog on a subreddit :
Hello, assistance needed please I too have a Bosch SGV43A13EU38 dishwasher, and I downloaded the service guide mentioned above. Could anyone explain how to test the power supply and what components to test first? I’m a bit confused by the wiring diagrams. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Start by checking the basics:
1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model).
2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter.
3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.
Hello, I’m having trouble with my appliance too. I checked the electrical supply, and the outlet, evrything is working, but there’s no power at the connection point. According to the schematic in the pdf, I expect to have 120V there, right? How do I test the control board? Is my dishwasher completely non-functional? The fuses seem good, I checked it with a voltage meter. Any suggestions? 🤔
I believe my dishwasher has an electrical problem because it won’t start at all. I’m not very experienced with fixing things, but I’m willing to give it a try. I have a current tester and some basic equipment. Can someone help me on where to begin? I’ve heard the mainboard, pump, or door mechanism could be the issue. Any suggestions would be helpful, can provide model number if needed!
Avoid jumping into replacing parts right away. Depending on the problem, the approach to troubleshooting issues may differ. Sometimes, appliances are recalled for safety, and you can simply let the company handle everything.
Does your dishwasher have problems with the display, indicators, or makes sounds? Start with the basics by inspecting the power supply, door switch, and mainboard.
It’s crucial to proceed step by step instead of quickly swapping parts like the mainboard or motor. First, check if the dishwasher is powered on. It’s as easy as that. Also, inspect the latch and thermal fuse.
If you’re a complete beginner in dishwasher repair, it might be safer to call a service center to prevent causing more damage, even if it costs a bit more. They can easily diagnose the problem and identify the broken part. Then, it’s your choice whether you decide to fix it yourself. (A piece of advice: always disconnect the dishwasher before working on it).
I think I damaged my appliance thermal resistance while trying to swap the water inlet valve. Now it won’t warm up at all while running. Is it possible I caused more issues? Something’s not working properly.
I grabbed the Bosch SGV43A13EU38 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll help me determine what went wrong. Hoping for the best...
Here’s my checklist for diagnosing a malfunctioning dishwasher:
Electrical Supply: Verify the dishwasher is getting power. Check the socket and terminal block too.
Door Switch: Check for continuity. A broken wire can stop the dishwasher from working.
Thermal Fuse: Inspect if it’s damaged. Swap it if needed.
Control Board: Examine for obvious damage or loose connections.
Pump and Pump: Check for proper operation and confirm they’re working properly.
