Hi guys, My Bosch SGV68U53UCA3 dishwasher has quit working, and I’d like to diagnose the problem myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this appliance, or can help me out, I’d really be thankful. When I try to start a wash, nothing happens: no lights, no water flow, and no sounds. It just failed mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some support to resolve the issue. Please don't share the operating manual, I already have it and it’s not informative. Thanks in advance for any advice!

I experienced a similar problem with my Bosch SGV68U53UCA3 dishwasher a few weeks ago, and I discovered a comprehensive service manual on the internet. It features detailed directions, wiring schematics, and diagnostic hints. Here’s the link, I discovered it on a blog through a subreddit :
Hi, help needed please I also have a Bosch SGV68U53UCA3 dishwasher, and I got the repair guide mentioned above. Could anyone explain how to test the power supply and what parts to test initially? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the electrical schematics. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Start by checking the basics:
1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model).
2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter.
3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.
Hello, I’m experiencing trouble with my dishwasher too. I inspected the electrical supply, and the socket, evrything is fine, but there’s no voltage at the terminal block. According to the wiring diagram in the guide, I expect to have 120V there, right? How do I test the control board? Is my dishwasher completely non-functional? The fuses seem fine, I checked it with a voltage meter. Any suggestions? 🤔
I think my dishwasher has an electrical issue because it won’t start at all. I’m not very experienced with fixing things, but I’m willing to give it a shot. I have a multimeter and some simple equipment. Can someone help me on how to begin? I’ve heard the control board, pump, or door switch could be the problem. Any suggestions would be helpful, can provide model number if needed!
Don't jump into replacing parts immediately. Depending on the issue, the method to troubleshooting issues may vary. Sometimes, devices are recalled for safety, and you can simply allow the company handle everything.
Does your appliance have problems with the screen, indicators, or makes sounds? Start with the fundamentals by inspecting the electrical connection, latch, and mainboard.
It’s crucial to proceed step by step instead of hastily replacing parts like the control board or pump. First, verify if the appliance is getting power. It’s as simple as that. Also, inspect the door switch and thermal fuse.
If you’re a total beginner in dishwasher repair, it might be better to call a service center to prevent causing more issues, even if it costs a bit more. They can easily identify the issue and identify the faulty part. Then, it’s your choice whether you want to replace it yourself. (A piece of advice: always unplug the appliance before trying to repair it).
I think I damaged my dishwasher heating element while trying to replace the water valve. Now it doesn’t warm up at all while operating. Is it possible I caused more damage? Something’s not working properly.
I downloaded the Bosch SGV68U53UCA3 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll help me figure out what went wrong. Fingers crossed...
Here’s my go-to checklist for diagnosing a malfunctioning dishwasher:
Power Supply: Check the dishwasher is receiving power. Check the socket and terminal block too.
Latch: Check for continuity. A faulty wire can prevent the dishwasher from working.
Fuse: Check if it’s blown. Swap it if needed.
Mainboard: Inspect for visible damage or disconnected connections.
Pump and Pump: Test for continuity and confirm they’re functioning properly.
