Hello everyone, My Bosch SHI49A5635 dishwasher has broken down, and I’d like to troubleshoot the issue myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this unit, or can guide me, I’d really appreciate it. When I try to start a cycle, nothing happens: no lights or sounds, and no water flows. It just died mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some assistance to repair it. Please don't share the operating manual, I already have it and it’s not helpful. Thanks in advance for your help!

I experienced a comparable issue with my Bosch SHI49A5635 dishwasher a few weeks ago, and I found a detailed service guide on the internet. It features step-by-step directions, electrical schematics, and troubleshooting hints. Here’s the URL, I found it on a blog on reddit :
Hi, help required please I too have a Bosch SHI49A5635 dishwasher, and I downloaded the service guide shared above. Could anyone explain how to test the power supply and what parts to test initially? I’m a bit confused by the wiring schematics. Any advice would be great!
Start by checking the basics:
1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model).
2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter.
3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.
Hello, I’m experiencing trouble with my dishwasher too. I inspected the power supply, and the outlet, evrything is fine, but there’s no power at the connection point. According to the schematic in the pdf, I should have 120V there, right? How do I check the mainboard? Is my appliance completely non-functional? The fuse seem good, I checked it with a multimeter. Any ideas? 🤔
I believe my dishwasher has an electrical problem because it won’t start at all. I’m not very experienced with fixing things, but I’m willing to give it a try. I have a current tester and some basic tools. Can anyone guide me on how to begin? I’ve heard the mainboard, pump, or door mechanism could be the problem. Any suggestions would be helpful, can provide serial number if required!
Don't jump into replacing parts right away. Depending on the issue, the approach to troubleshooting malfunctions may differ. Sometimes, devices are recalled, and you can simply let the manufacturer handle everything.
Does your appliance have problems with the screen, indicators, or makes noises? Start with the fundamentals by inspecting the electrical connection, door switch, and control board.
It’s important to move step by step instead of quickly replacing parts like the mainboard or pump. First, check if the dishwasher is powered on. It’s as easy as that. Also, inspect the door switch and thermal fuse.
If you’re a complete beginner in appliance repair, it might be safer to call a repair shop to avoid causing more damage, even if it costs a little extra. They can quickly identify the issue and find the faulty part. Then, it’s up to you whether you want to fix it yourself. (A tip: always unplug the appliance before working on it).
I think I damaged my dishwasher thermal resistance while trying to replace the water valve. Now it doesn’t heat at all while running. Is it possible I caused more damage? Something’s not working properly.
I grabbed the Bosch SHI49A5635 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll assist me determine what went wrong. Hoping for the best...
Here’s my go-to checklist for troubleshooting a faulty dishwasher:
Power Supply: Verify the dishwasher is receiving power. Check the socket and terminal block too.
Latch: Test for continuity. A broken wire can stop the dishwasher from working.
Thermal Fuse: Check if it’s damaged. Swap it if needed.
Mainboard: Inspect for obvious damage or disconnected connections.
Motor and Pump: Check for proper operation and ensure they’re working properly.
