Hello people, My Bosch SHU6805UC11 dishwasher has quit working, and I’d like to fix the issue myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this model, or can provide some advice, I’d really be grateful. When I try to start a cycle, nothing happens: no lights, sounds, or water flow. It just failed mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some help to repair it. Please don't share the user manual, I already have it and it’s not informative. Thanks in advance for any assistance!
Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum!
I have experienced a comparable issue with my Bosch SHU6805UC11 dishwasher a few months ago, and I discovered a detailed service manual online. It features step-by-step instructions, wiring schematics, and diagnostic tips. Here’s the URL, I found it on a blog thanks to a subreddit :
Hi, assistance required please I also have a Bosch SHU6805UC11 dishwasher, and I downloaded the service guide mentioned above. Could someone clarify how to check the power supply and what components to test initially? I’m a bit confused by the wiring schematics. Any suggestions would be great!
Start by checking the basics:
1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model).
2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter.
3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.
Hi, I’m having trouble with my dishwasher too. I checked the power supply, and the socket, evrything is fine, but there’s no power at the connection point. According to the wiring diagram in the book, I expect to have some voltage there, right? How do I test the mainboard? Is my dishwasher completely dead? The fuses seem good, I tested it with a multimeter. Any ideas? 🤔
I believe my dishwasher has an electrical issue because it won’t start at all. I’m not very experienced with fixing things, but I’m open to give it a try. I have a multimeter and some basic equipment. Can anyone guide me on where to begin? I’ve heard the control board, motor, or door mechanism could be the problem. Any advice would be helpful, can provide model number if required!
Don’t Rush into replacing parts immediately. Depending on the problem, the approach to troubleshooting malfunctions may vary. Sometimes, appliances are recalled for safety, and you can simply allow the company handle the repair.
Does your appliance have issues with the display, indicators, or makes noises? Start with the basics by checking the electrical connection, latch, and control board.
It’s important to proceed step by step instead of quickly swapping parts like the mainboard or motor. First, check if the appliance is powered on. It’s as easy as that. Also, inspect the latch and thermal fuse.
If you’re a total beginner in appliance repair, it might be safer to call a service center to prevent causing more damage, even if it costs a little extra. They can easily identify the problem and identify the broken part. Then, it’s your choice whether you want to fix it yourself. (A piece of advice: always unplug the dishwasher before working on it).
I believe I damaged my appliance thermal resistance while trying to swap the water inlet valve. Now it doesn’t heat at all while running. Is it likely I caused more damage? Something’s not working properly.
I downloaded the Bosch SHU6805UC11 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll help me figure out what went wrong. Hoping for the best...
This is my preferred checklist for troubleshooting a malfunctioning dishwasher:
Electrical Supply: Verify the dishwasher is getting power. Test the socket and terminal block as well.
Latch: Test for continuity. A broken switch can prevent the dishwasher from working.
Thermal Fuse: Check if it’s damaged. Swap it if needed.
Control Board: Examine for obvious damage or disconnected connections.
Motor and Motor: Check for continuity and confirm they’re working properly.
