Hi people,
My Bosch SHU9955 dishwasher has quit working, and I’d like to address the problem myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this machine, or can point me in the right direction, I’d really be thankful. When I try to start a cycle, nothing happens: no lights, no water flow, and no sounds. It just shut down mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some advice to get it working again. Please don't share the operating manual, I already have it and it’s not informative.
Thanks in advance for your support!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I have experienced a comparable problem with my Bosch SHU9955 dishwasher a few months ago, and I discovered a detailed service manual online. It features step-by-step instructions, wiring schematics, and diagnostic hints. Here’s the link, I found it on a blog through reddit :

Hello, assistance required please I also have a Bosch SHU9955 dishwasher, and I downloaded the service guide mentioned above. Could anyone clarify how to check the power supply and what parts to inspect initially? I’m a bit confused by the wiring diagrams. Any advice would be appreciated!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hello, I’m having trouble with my appliance too. I inspected the electrical supply, and the outlet, evrything is working, but there’s no power at the terminal block. According to the schematic in the guide, I should have some voltage there, correct? How do I test the mainboard? Is my dishwasher completely dead? The fuses seem fine, I checked it with a multimeter. Any suggestions? 🤔

I think my appliance has an electrical issue because it isn't starting. I’m not very experienced with fixing things, but I’m open to give it a try. I have a current tester and some simple equipment. Can someone help me on where to start? I’ve heard the control board, pump, or door mechanism could be the issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated, can provide model number if required!

Avoid jumping into replacing parts immediately. Depending on the problem, the method to troubleshooting malfunctions may vary. Sometimes, appliances are recalled for safety, and you can simply let the company handle the repair. Does your appliance have issues with the display, lights, or makes sounds? Start with the basics by inspecting the power supply, door switch, and control board. It’s important to move step by step instead of quickly swapping parts like the control board or pump. First, check if the dishwasher is getting power. It’s as simple as that. Also, check the door switch and thermal fuse. If you’re a total beginner in dishwasher repair, it might be better to call a repair shop to avoid causing more damage, even if it costs a little extra. They can easily diagnose the issue and identify the faulty part. Then, it’s up to you whether you decide to fix it yourself. (A tip: always unplug the appliance prior to working on it).

I think I damaged my dishwasher heating element while trying to replace the water valve. Now it doesn’t heat at all while operating. Is it likely I caused more issues? Something’s not working properly. I grabbed the Bosch SHU9955 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll help me determine what went wrong. Hoping for the best...

This is my go-to checklist for troubleshooting a faulty dishwasher: Power Supply: Verify the dishwasher is receiving power. Test the outlet and terminal block as well. Latch: Check for continuity. A faulty switch can prevent the dishwasher from starting. Thermal Fuse: Check if it’s damaged. Swap it if necessary. Mainboard: Inspect for obvious damage or disconnected connections. Pump and Motor: Check for proper operation and confirm they’re functioning properly.
