Hi friends, My Bosch SMI4300401 dishwasher has broken down, and I’d like to address the problem myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this appliance, or can point me in the right direction, I’d really be grateful. When I try to start a washing cycle, nothing happens: no lights or sounds, and no water flows. It just failed mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some help to repair it. Please don't share the user manual, I already have it and it’s not informative. Thanks in advance for any advice!

I have had a similar issue with my Bosch SMI4300401 dishwasher a few months ago, and I discovered a detailed service manual on the internet. It features detailed directions, electrical schematics, and diagnostic tips. Here’s the link, I found it on a blog through reddit :
Hi, assistance required please I too have a Bosch SMI4300401 dishwasher, and I got the repair guide mentioned above. Could anyone clarify how to test the electrical supply and what components to test first? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the wiring diagrams. Any advice would be great!
Start by checking the basics:
1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model).
2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter.
3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.
Hi, I’m experiencing trouble with my dishwasher too. I inspected the power supply, and the socket, evrything is working, but there’s no power at the terminal block. According to the schematic in the manual, I should have 120V there, correct? How do I test the mainboard? Is my dishwasher totally non-functional? The fuse seem good, I tested it with a multimeter. Any ideas? 🤔
I think my appliance has an electrical issue because it won’t start at all. I’m not very experienced with repairs, but I’m willing to give it a try. I have a current tester and some basic tools. Can someone guide me on where to begin? I’ve heard the mainboard, motor, or door switch could be the problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated, can provide model number if required!
Avoid rushing into replacing parts immediately. Depending on the issue, the method to diagnosing issues may differ. Sometimes, appliances are recalled for safety, and you can simply allow the manufacturer handle everything.
Does your appliance have problems with the display, lights, or makes sounds? Start with the basics by inspecting the electrical connection, door switch, and control board.
It’s important to proceed step by step instead of quickly replacing parts like the control board or pump. First, verify if the dishwasher is getting power. It’s as easy as that. Also, inspect the latch and thermal fuse.
If you’re a complete beginner in dishwasher repair, it might be safer to call a repair shop to avoid causing more damage, even if it costs a little extra. They can easily diagnose the issue and find the faulty part. Then, it’s your choice whether you decide to fix it yourself. (A piece of advice: always unplug the dishwasher before trying to repair it).
I believe I damaged my appliance heating element while trying to replace the water valve. Now it doesn’t heat at all while operating. Is it likely I caused more damage? Something’s not right.
I downloaded the Bosch SMI4300401 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll help me determine what went wrong. Hoping for the best...
This is my checklist for troubleshooting a faulty dishwasher:
Power Supply: Check the dishwasher is receiving power. Check the outlet and terminal block as well.
Latch: Test for continuity. A faulty switch can stop the dishwasher from starting.
Fuse: Inspect if it’s blown. Replace it if needed.
Mainboard: Inspect for visible damage or loose connections.
Motor and Pump: Test for proper operation and confirm they’re functioning properly.
