Hi people,
My Bosch SMI69T05SK21 dishwasher has quit working, and I’d like to fix the issue myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this model, or can provide some advice, I’d really be grateful. When I try to start a cycle, nothing happens: no lights, no water flow, and no sounds. It just died mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some advice to repair it. Please don't share the operating manual, I already have it and it’s not useful.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I have had a comparable issue with my Bosch SMI69T05SK21 dishwasher a few months ago, and I discovered a detailed service manual online. It features detailed instructions, wiring schematics, and diagnostic tips. Here’s the link, I discovered it on a blog through a subreddit :

Hello, assistance required please I too have a Bosch SMI69T05SK21 dishwasher, and I downloaded the repair guide mentioned above. Could someone clarify how to test the electrical supply and what parts to test initially? I’m a bit confused by the wiring schematics. Any suggestions would be great!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hello, I’m experiencing trouble with my dishwasher too. I inspected the electrical supply, and the outlet, evrything is fine, but there’s no voltage at the connection point. According to the schematic in the pdf, I should have some voltage there, correct? How do I check the mainboard? Is my dishwasher completely faulty? The fuses seem fine, I checked it with a voltage meter. Any ideas? 🤔

I think my dishwasher has an electrical issue because it isn't starting. I’m not very experienced with repairs, but I’m willing to give it a try. I have a current tester and some simple equipment. Can someone guide me on where to begin? I’ve heard the control board, motor, or door mechanism could be the problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated, can provide serial number if required!

Avoid jumping into replacing parts immediately. Depending on the issue, the method to diagnosing issues may vary. Sometimes, appliances are recalled, and you can simply let the company handle everything. Does your appliance have issues with the screen, lights, or makes noises? Start with the fundamentals by inspecting the electrical connection, door switch, and mainboard. It’s important to move step by step instead of hastily swapping parts like the mainboard or pump. First, verify if the dishwasher is powered on. It’s as simple as that. Also, check the door switch and thermal fuse. If you’re a complete beginner in dishwasher repair, it might be better to call a service center to avoid causing more issues, even if it costs a bit more. They can easily diagnose the problem and identify the faulty part. Then, it’s up to you whether you decide to fix it yourself. (A tip: always disconnect the appliance before trying to repair it).

I believe I damaged my dishwasher thermal resistance while trying to swap the water inlet valve. Now it doesn’t warm up at all while operating. Is it possible I caused more damage? Something’s not right. I downloaded the Bosch SMI69T05SK21 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll help me determine what went wrong. Hoping for the best...

This is my go-to checklist for diagnosing a faulty dishwasher: Power Supply: Check the dishwasher is receiving power. Test the outlet and connection point too. Latch: Check for continuity. A broken wire can prevent the dishwasher from working. Thermal Fuse: Inspect if it’s damaged. Replace it if necessary. Control Board: Inspect for obvious damage or disconnected connections. Pump and Motor: Check for continuity and ensure they’re functioning properly.
