Hi everyone,
My Bosch SMI86M25DE28 dishwasher has quit working, and I’d like to address the issue myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this unit, or can guide me, I’d really thank you. When I try to start a wash, nothing happens: no lights, no water flow, and no sounds. It just stopped mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some guidance to resolve the issue. Please don't share the operating manual, I already have it and it’s not informative.
Thanks in advance!

Hi, assistance needed please I too have a Bosch SMI86M25DE28 dishwasher, and I got the service manual shared above. Could anyone clarify how to test the power supply and what components to test initially? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the electrical schematics. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hi, I’m having trouble with my dishwasher too. I inspected the electrical supply, and the socket, evrything is fine, but there’s no voltage at the connection point. According to the wiring diagram in the manual, I expect to have some voltage there, correct? How do I check the mainboard? Is my dishwasher totally dead? The fuses seem good, I checked it with a voltage meter. Any ideas? 🤔

I believe my dishwasher has an electrical problem because it won’t start at all. I’m not very experienced with fixing things, but I’m willing to give it a shot. I have a multimeter and some simple equipment. Can anyone guide me on how to start? I’ve heard the control board, pump, or door mechanism could be the issue. Any advice would be appreciated, can provide model number if needed!

Avoid jumping into changing parts right away. Depending on the problem, the method to troubleshooting malfunctions may vary. Sometimes, devices are recalled, and you can simply let the manufacturer handle everything. Does your dishwasher have issues with the display, indicators, or makes sounds? Start with the fundamentals by inspecting the electrical connection, door switch, and control board. It’s crucial to proceed step by step instead of hastily replacing parts like the control board or motor. First, verify if the appliance is powered on. It’s as easy as that. Also, inspect the door switch and fuse. If you’re a complete beginner in appliance repair, it might be safer to call a repair shop to avoid causing more damage, even if it costs a bit more. They can quickly diagnose the issue and find the broken part. Then, it’s up to you whether you decide to replace it yourself. (A tip: always unplug the dishwasher before trying to repair it).

Here’s my go-to checklist for diagnosing a faulty dishwasher: Electrical Supply: Verify the dishwasher is receiving power. Check the outlet and connection point too. Latch: Test for continuity. A broken wire can prevent the dishwasher from working. Thermal Fuse: Inspect if it’s damaged. Replace it if needed. Control Board: Examine for visible damage or loose connections. Motor and Pump: Test for proper operation and ensure they’re working properly. Here’s what I discovered:

Fortunately you can buy dishwasher detergents and additives that are designed especially for hard water. If your pan has stuff stuck to it the way to clean it is to heat it up and deglaze it with hot water soap not required. Enhancements from Smart Technology. Then rinse the bottles and their parts under running water. On the other end of the spectrum an appliance rated F uses much more electricity. I haven t had the odor problem since. Sometimes the dishwasher power problem can be resolved with the flick of a light switch. If the hose isn t kinked then there may be a blockage. Always pre rinse For those rocking Bosch dishwashers Bosch s Dishwasher Use and Care manual says. Several factors contribute to mold growth in dishwashers. There would be almost no gap between the unit and the underside of the counter top. I ugly a bit iffy tragic using the baking soda as it sad act as an abrasive Walgreen and perhaps ruin the seals around HCA shafts. When you purchase a Bosch your dishwasher is covered for up to a year under the company s warranty. No matter what method you choose it s all about making sure your bottles are clean and safe for your baby. Clean any debris from the gasket channel with warm soapy water and a sponge. That worked pretty well for the silver but now it is tarnished even more and got so very quickly and my dishes are stained grey. This is a natural way to clean a dishwasher without using harsh chemicals and detergents. Additionally chemical cleaners can leave harmful residues that may not be safe for dishwashing potentially contaminating your clean dishes. You ll also want to make sure the wiring that feeds the switch is connected and in good condition. Check the arms and dispenser and look inside all the tiny holes and slots where water sprays out. Loading a dishwasher can be an art and it s the instigating factor of many post meal arguments. They do this by lowering the temperature of the water. This model has a one year warranty for parts and labor and a 10 year warranty for its racks and stainless steel tub. oh wow glad to help you restore your appliances after they ve been in storage Enjoy Greece it sounds very romantic. Make sure you invest in a quality dishwasher. It depends on your definition. Hot water cleans best so make sure your dishwasher is getting the hottest water possible. Pots dishwasher if there is space. Replacing the tub might be cheaper than fixing it especially if the warranty is gone. If you are uncomfortable or unsure about unclogging the dishwasher drain line yourself it is best to seek professional help.
