Hello folks,
My Bosch SMS53M08FF32 dishwasher has stopped working, and I’d like to fix the problem myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this machine, or can guide me, I’d really be thankful. When I try to start a cycle, nothing happens: no lights, no sounds, and no water is flowing. It just died mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some advice to get it working again. Please don't share the owner's manual, I already have it and it’s not helpful.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I experienced a similar issue with my Bosch SMS53M08FF32 dishwasher a few months ago, and I found a comprehensive service manual on the internet. It includes detailed directions, electrical diagrams, and troubleshooting hints. Here’s the link, I found it on a blog through a subreddit :

Hi, assistance required please I also have a Bosch SMS53M08FF32 dishwasher, and I downloaded the repair manual shared above. Could anyone clarify how to test the power supply and what parts to inspect initially? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the wiring schematics. Any suggestions would be great!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hello, I’m experiencing trouble with my dishwasher too. I checked the power supply, and the socket, evrything is working, but there’s no power at the connection point. According to the schematic in the guide, I expect to have some voltage there, correct? How do I check the control board? Is my dishwasher totally faulty? The fuse seem good, I checked it with a voltage meter. Any suggestions? 🤔

I believe my appliance has an electrical issue because it won’t start at all. I’m not very tech savvy with repairs, but I’m willing to give it a shot. I have a current tester and some simple tools. Can someone help me on how to start? I’ve heard the mainboard, motor, or door mechanism could be the problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated, can provide model number if needed!

Don’t Rush into replacing parts immediately. Depending on the problem, the approach to troubleshooting malfunctions may differ. Sometimes, appliances are recalled for safety, and you can simply allow the company handle everything. Does your dishwasher have issues with the screen, indicators, or makes sounds? Start with the basics by checking the electrical connection, latch, and control board. It’s important to proceed step by step instead of hastily replacing parts like the control board or pump. First, check if the appliance is powered on. It’s as easy as that. Also, check the latch and thermal fuse. If you’re a complete beginner in dishwasher repair, it might be better to call a service center to prevent causing more damage, even if it costs a bit more. They can easily diagnose the problem and find the faulty part. Then, it’s up to you whether you want to fix it yourself. (A piece of advice: always unplug the appliance before working on it).

This is my go-to checklist for diagnosing a faulty dishwasher: Electrical Supply: Verify the dishwasher is getting power. Check the outlet and connection point as well. Latch: Test for continuity. A broken switch can stop the dishwasher from working. Fuse: Check if it’s damaged. Replace it if necessary. Mainboard: Inspect for obvious damage or disconnected connections. Pump and Motor: Test for continuity and ensure they’re working properly.
