Hi all,
My Bosch SMS601103 dishwasher has quit working, and I’d like to diagnose the problem myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this model, or can provide some advice, I’d really appreciate it. When I try to start a wash, nothing happens: no lights, no sounds, no water flow. It just shut down mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some advice to get it working again. Please don't share the operating manual, I already have it and it’s not informative.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I had a comparable problem with my Bosch SMS601103 dishwasher a few weeks ago, and I found a comprehensive service guide online. It features step-by-step instructions, electrical diagrams, and diagnostic tips. Here’s the URL, I found it on a blog on reddit :

Hi, assistance required please I also have a Bosch SMS601103 dishwasher, and I downloaded the service guide shared above. Could someone clarify how to check the electrical supply and what components to inspect first? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the wiring diagrams. Any suggestions would be great!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hello, I’m having trouble with my dishwasher too. I inspected the power supply, and the socket, evrything is working, but there’s no power at the terminal block. According to the schematic in the pdf, I expect to have 120V there, correct? How do I check the control board? Is my appliance totally non-functional? The fuses seem fine, I tested it with a voltage meter. Any suggestions? 🤔

I think my appliance has an electrical issue because it isn't starting. I’m not very skilled with repairs, but I’m willing to give it a try. I have a current tester and some simple tools. Can anyone help me on where to start? I’ve heard the control board, pump, or door mechanism could be the problem. Any suggestions would be helpful, can provide model number if needed!

Avoid jumping into replacing parts immediately. Depending on the problem, the approach to diagnosing malfunctions may differ. Sometimes, devices are recalled for safety, and you can simply let the company handle the repair. Does your appliance have issues with the display, lights, or makes noises? Start with the basics by checking the power supply, latch, and mainboard. It’s important to move step by step instead of hastily replacing parts like the control board or pump. First, verify if the appliance is getting power. It’s as simple as that. Also, check the door switch and thermal fuse. If you’re a complete beginner in dishwasher repair, it might be safer to call a repair shop to prevent causing more damage, even if it costs a bit more. They can easily identify the issue and identify the broken part. Then, it’s your choice whether you decide to fix it yourself. (A piece of advice: always disconnect the appliance prior to working on it).

I believe I damaged my appliance heating element while trying to swap the water inlet valve. Now it won’t warm up at all while running. Is it possible I caused more damage? Something’s not right. I grabbed the Bosch SMS601103 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll help me determine what went wrong. Fingers crossed...

This is my preferred checklist for diagnosing a faulty dishwasher: Power Supply: Check the dishwasher is receiving power. Check the socket and connection point as well. Latch: Check for continuity. A faulty wire can prevent the dishwasher from working. Thermal Fuse: Inspect if it’s blown. Swap it if needed. Mainboard: Examine for obvious damage or disconnected connections. Motor and Pump: Check for continuity and ensure they’re working properly. Here’s what I found:

Did you install the correct new element in the DW. It was absolutely clear at all points that they just didn t give a flying f about their customers electric shocks or not. Remove dirt without an extra dishwasher cycle. Info light Indicator that flashes a light when the dishwasher runs. The Sanitize cycle provides a high temperature wash option intended to sanitize dishes especially important after washing items used for raw meat and poultry to prevent contamination. You can also try soaking the mat in hot water the sprinkling it with baking soda to make a bit of a paste. Later I found out that the model was a complete dud. If a faucet hookup is not available or desired we like that this pick offers you the option to manually fill the five liter water tank with the included pitcher. I have turn the breaker off for 10 minutes and back on still nothing. They have forced air drying via a small blower with residual heat from the final rinse and the ceramic disk water heating element beneath the large stainless steel filter plate. If you can locate the solenoid try measuring the resistance of the coil with the wiring removed. Dishwashers ensure dishes do not remain dirty for long making them important to any living space. People often thing they ve broken. See our Glassware Care page for full details on caring for your glassware. I kinda love my viking dishwasher. The trouble is much as it is with eco settings on washing machines the performance naturally isn t as strong compared to the standard settings. This is water spots on your glass chalky residue in the bathtub and buildup in your pipes. Another shard of glass here too. Remove every single component that can be unscrewed including the swinging arms at the top and all the plastic bits around the filter. This is especially a risk if your pipes are made of a metal like steel or copper. Putting your flatware in the third rack enables you to remove that big silverware basket taking up space in the lower rack making more room for cookie sheets and serving platters without obstructing the water jets. By choosing to install the dishwasher yourself you risk losing this protection if the manufacturer determines that the issue was caused by improper installation. Here s a pro tip run an empty cycle with white vinegar. The CDT888 has a standard one year warranty for parts and labor but its stainless steel tub does not have a separate longer warranty like our picks from Whirlpool and Maytag do. to prevent dishes stinking up the machine between washes. By the end you ll appreciate the convenience and make an informed choice for your British kitchen s new best friend. Anyway the bottom of the dishwasher has a lot of water in it more than just the drips from the dishes. Keep in mind that every dishwasher is different. Then I just do my normal dishes before bed. Take your pick from one of these additional features.
