Hi all,
My Bosch SMU50E15EU01 dishwasher has broken down, and I’d like to fix the issue myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this appliance, or can help me out, I’d really be thankful. When I try to start a cleaning cycle, nothing happens: no lights or sounds, and no water flows. It just failed mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some guidance to fix it. Please don't share the user manual, I already have it and it’s not useful.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I have had a similar problem with my Bosch SMU50E15EU01 dishwasher a few months ago, and I found a comprehensive service guide on the internet. It includes detailed instructions, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting tips. Here’s the link, I found it on a blog on a subreddit :

Hi, assistance needed please I also have a Bosch SMU50E15EU01 dishwasher, and I got the service manual shared above. Could anyone explain how to check the electrical supply and what components to inspect first? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the wiring schematics. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hi, I’m having trouble with my appliance too. I checked the electrical supply, and the outlet, evrything is fine, but there’s no power at the terminal block. According to the schematic in the book, I expect to have some voltage there, right? How do I check the mainboard? Is my appliance completely faulty? The fuse seem good, I tested it with a multimeter. Any suggestions? 🤔

I believe my appliance has an electrical issue because it isn't starting. I’m not very tech savvy with fixing things, but I’m open to give it a shot. I have a current tester and some basic tools. Can anyone guide me on how to start? I’ve heard the control board, pump, or door switch could be the issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated, can provide model number if needed!

Avoid jumping into replacing parts right away. Depending on the problem, the approach to troubleshooting issues may vary. Sometimes, appliances are recalled for safety, and you can simply let the manufacturer handle everything. Does your dishwasher have problems with the screen, indicators, or makes sounds? Start with the basics by checking the electrical connection, latch, and mainboard. It’s important to proceed step by step instead of quickly swapping parts like the mainboard or pump. First, check if the dishwasher is powered on. It’s as easy as that. Also, inspect the latch and fuse. If you’re a complete beginner in appliance repair, it might be safer to call a repair shop to avoid causing more damage, even if it costs a little extra. They can easily diagnose the problem and find the broken part. Then, it’s up to you whether you want to replace it yourself. (A piece of advice: always disconnect the dishwasher before trying to repair it).

I believe I damaged my dishwasher thermal resistance while trying to swap the water inlet valve. Now it doesn’t warm up at all while operating. Is it likely I caused more issues? Something’s not working properly. I grabbed the Bosch SMU50E15EU01 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll assist me determine what went wrong. Fingers crossed...

Here’s my go-to checklist for diagnosing a faulty dishwasher: Power Supply: Verify the dishwasher is receiving power. Test the socket and connection point too. Door Switch: Check for continuity. A broken wire can prevent the dishwasher from working. Fuse: Check if it’s damaged. Replace it if necessary. Mainboard: Inspect for visible damage or loose connections. Pump and Pump: Test for proper operation and confirm they’re functioning properly. Here’s what I discovered:

Once you re done with it you can acknowledge the codes which resets them. The first step in cleaning a foul smelling dishwasher involves addressing one of the most common sources of odor and blockage the drain filter. Then as the tub cools with the hot dishware condensation will occur and water will drip off the dishes. You haven t recently had a new garbage disposal installed Because if you did you might check to see that the knock out plug was removed. Now that you understand the cause read on for more information about how to avoid these annoying cloudy stains on your favourite glass kitchen items before your next big dinner party. Once you ve cleared your dishwasher drain hose it is essential to maintain the system to prevent future clogs. Another thing to examine is your KA installation instructions. You can substitute rinse aid with Vinegar. I pulled everything out and scrubbed it with 409. Some dishwashers also have door ajar drying which improves airflow and drying efficiency. While most locations will set the pour cost at 20 to 25 others will use 22 for wine 20 for beer and 14 for liquor. This case will preserve the shine and the brilliance of your jewel thanks to its treatment with silver salts. If you have never cleaned your dishwasher then you may need to do a deep cleaning. If the interior is all plastic then you can also add citrus or peppermint oils to a liquid dishwasher soap and run that through the dishwasher. That left a gap which caused the leak. The recurring complaint is that this dishwasher has a habit of throwing error codes that require a diagnosis before another cycle can be started. The most common sizes are 12 14 or 16 place settings. It s important to remember not to add detergent when selecting this cycle. It s important to note that the performance of specific product models may vary quite significantly so don t assume that one brand s products are the best across the many different features functions and price points. Welcome Guest Log In Register. Each dishwasher foot is adjustable with a twist. What is the model number of the new one. Some people use it instead of rinse aid and says that it gives good sparkle. Think of an egg white changing from translucent to white while cooked that s protein denaturing. Such kinks instantly mean that your dishwasher water supply line is blocked and that it needs to be unblocked for your dishwasher to get a sufficient amount of water inside to get your dishes clean. A high temperature up to 70 high energy program for heavily. But before you put it in the dishwasher and cross your fingers that it ll be fine give this list a quick scan to make sure it will survive. Symptom was also dirty dishes. If you have to pull the appliance out to do this be sure the retainer clips or screws under the counter which hold it in place are disconnected. UpFix doesn t just stop at the big appliances we also handle more minor but essential components like ice makers.
