Hello all,
My Bosch SMU85M25EU01 dishwasher has failed, and I’d like to fix the problem myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this machine, or can provide some advice, I’d really thank you. When I try to start a cycle, nothing happens: no lights or sounds, and no water flows. It just stopped mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some advice to get it working again. Please don't share the user manual, I already have it and it’s not useful.
Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I have experienced a similar problem with my Bosch SMU85M25EU01 dishwasher a few weeks ago, and I found a detailed service manual on the internet. It features step-by-step instructions, wiring schematics, and troubleshooting hints. Here’s the link, I found it on a blog thanks to reddit :

Hello, help needed please I too have a Bosch SMU85M25EU01 dishwasher, and I got the repair guide mentioned above. Could someone explain how to check the electrical supply and what components to inspect first? I’m a bit confused by the electrical diagrams. Any advice would be great!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hi, I’m experiencing trouble with my appliance too. I checked the electrical supply, and the socket, evrything is fine, but there’s no power at the terminal block. According to the schematic in the book, I should have some voltage there, right? How do I test the mainboard? Is my dishwasher totally faulty? The fuse seem good, I tested it with a voltage meter. Any ideas? 🤔

I believe my appliance has an electrical issue because it isn't starting. I’m not very experienced with fixing things, but I’m willing to give it a shot. I have a multimeter and some basic equipment. Can someone guide me on where to start? I’ve heard the control board, pump, or door mechanism could be the issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated, can provide serial number if required!

Avoid jumping into replacing parts immediately. Depending on the problem, the approach to diagnosing malfunctions may vary. Sometimes, devices are recalled, and you can simply let the manufacturer handle everything. Does your appliance have issues with the display, indicators, or makes noises? Start with the fundamentals by inspecting the power supply, door switch, and mainboard. It’s important to move step by step instead of quickly replacing parts like the mainboard or pump. First, verify if the dishwasher is powered on. It’s as easy as that. Also, inspect the latch and thermal fuse. If you’re a complete beginner in dishwasher repair, it might be safer to call a service center to prevent causing more damage, even if it costs a little extra. They can quickly diagnose the issue and find the faulty part. Then, it’s up to you whether you want to fix it yourself. (A piece of advice: always unplug the dishwasher before trying to repair it).

Here’s my preferred checklist for diagnosing a malfunctioning dishwasher: Electrical Supply: Verify the dishwasher is getting power. Check the outlet and connection point as well. Latch: Test for continuity. A faulty wire can prevent the dishwasher from working. Fuse: Inspect if it’s damaged. Swap it if necessary. Mainboard: Examine for obvious damage or loose connections. Motor and Pump: Test for continuity and ensure they’re working properly.
