Hi people,
My Electrolux ESZ89300SX dishwasher has broken down, and I’d like to diagnose the issue myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this appliance, or can offer suggestions, I’d really be thankful. When I try to start a wash, nothing happens: no lights, no water flow, and no sounds. It just failed mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some advice to get it working again. Please don't share the operating manual, I already have it and it’s not informative.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I had a similar issue with my Electrolux ESZ89300SX dishwasher a few months ago, and I discovered a detailed service guide online. It includes detailed instructions, electrical diagrams, and diagnostic hints. Here’s the link, I discovered it on a blog through reddit :

Hi, assistance needed please I too have a Electrolux ESZ89300SX dishwasher, and I downloaded the service manual mentioned above. Could anyone explain how to check the power supply and what parts to test first? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the electrical diagrams. Any suggestions would be great!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hi, I’m experiencing trouble with my appliance too. I checked the power supply, and the socket, evrything is working, but there’s no power at the terminal block. According to the wiring diagram in the book, I expect to have some voltage there, correct? How do I check the control board? Is my dishwasher totally dead? The fuse seem fine, I checked it with a multimeter. Any ideas? 🤔

I think my appliance has an electrical problem because it isn't starting. I’m not very skilled with repairs, but I’m open to give it a shot. I have a current tester and some simple tools. Can someone help me on how to start? I’ve heard the control board, motor, or door mechanism could be the problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated, can provide serial number if needed!

Don’t Rush into replacing parts immediately. Depending on the problem, the approach to diagnosing issues may vary. Sometimes, appliances are recalled, and you can simply let the company handle everything. Does your appliance have problems with the screen, indicators, or makes sounds? Start with the fundamentals by checking the electrical connection, door switch, and control board. It’s important to move step by step instead of hastily swapping parts like the mainboard or motor. First, check if the appliance is getting power. It’s as easy as that. Also, check the latch and thermal fuse. If you’re a total beginner in dishwasher repair, it might be safer to call a service center to prevent causing more issues, even if it costs a bit more. They can easily diagnose the problem and identify the broken part. Then, it’s up to you whether you want to replace it yourself. (A tip: always unplug the appliance prior to working on it).

Here’s my go-to checklist for troubleshooting a faulty dishwasher: Electrical Supply: Check the dishwasher is receiving power. Check the socket and terminal block as well. Latch: Test for continuity. A faulty wire can prevent the dishwasher from working. Thermal Fuse: Inspect if it’s blown. Swap it if necessary. Mainboard: Examine for visible damage or loose connections. Pump and Motor: Check for proper operation and ensure they’re functioning properly.
