Hello my good fellows,
My GE PDW7700J10CC dishwasher has stopped working, and I’d like to troubleshoot the problem myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this appliance, or can offer suggestions, I’d really be thankful. When I try to start a cycle, nothing happens: no lights or sounds, and no water flows. It just quit mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some guidance to troubleshoot it. Please don't share the owner's manual, I already have it and it’s not informative.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I experienced a comparable issue with my GE PDW7700J10CC dishwasher a few months ago, and I discovered a comprehensive service manual online. It includes detailed instructions, electrical schematics, and diagnostic hints. Here’s the link, I found it on a blog thanks to a subreddit :

Hello, assistance needed please I also have a GE PDW7700J10CC dishwasher, and I downloaded the service manual mentioned above. Could someone clarify how to check the electrical supply and what parts to inspect first? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the electrical diagrams. Any advice would be appreciated!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hello, I’m experiencing trouble with my appliance too. I checked the electrical supply, and the outlet, evrything is fine, but there’s no voltage at the terminal block. According to the schematic in the manual, I should have 120V there, right? How do I check the mainboard? Is my dishwasher completely non-functional? The fuse seem fine, I checked it with a voltage meter. Any ideas? 🤔

I believe my dishwasher has an electrical problem because it won’t start at all. I’m not very skilled with repairs, but I’m willing to give it a try. I have a multimeter and some basic equipment. Can someone guide me on how to start? I’ve heard the control board, pump, or door switch could be the issue. Any advice would be appreciated, can provide model number if needed!

Avoid jumping into changing parts right away. Depending on the issue, the approach to diagnosing malfunctions may differ. Sometimes, devices are recalled, and you can simply allow the manufacturer handle everything. Does your dishwasher have problems with the display, lights, or makes sounds? Start with the fundamentals by checking the power supply, latch, and mainboard. It’s important to move step by step instead of hastily swapping parts like the control board or motor. First, check if the dishwasher is getting power. It’s as easy as that. Also, inspect the door switch and fuse. If you’re a complete beginner in appliance repair, it might be safer to call a service center to avoid causing more issues, even if it costs a bit more. They can quickly diagnose the issue and identify the faulty part. Then, it’s your choice whether you decide to fix it yourself. (A tip: always unplug the appliance prior to trying to repair it).

Here’s my checklist for diagnosing a faulty dishwasher: Power Supply: Verify the dishwasher is getting power. Test the outlet and terminal block as well. Latch: Test for continuity. A faulty wire can stop the dishwasher from working. Fuse: Inspect if it’s blown. Swap it if necessary. Mainboard: Inspect for visible damage or loose connections. Pump and Motor: Check for proper operation and confirm they’re functioning properly. For more detailed instructions, refer to this link. : https://www.fiyo.co.uk/dishwasher/-lynx?device_brand=556

Here’s what I found:

I ve been told to never mix silver with stainless. it just didn t make much sense. This probably wouldn t have happened if the ground wire had not ben cut. Unscrew the filter a small mesh screen on one end of the water line and soak it in a bath of soapy water. The only time a pre wash setting may come in use is if you re dealing with very heavy residue which is rare. I do it in a very gung ho way only rinsing very dirty things. Turn the circuit breaker to the dishwasher OFF and wait 10 seconds. Most common reason for no dry is empty rinse aid dispenser. Some companies claim their products are BPA free yet use similar compounds such as BPS BPF and BPAF that may have similar health effects to BPA. However it s essential to check the manufacturer s recommendations and guidelines for your specific dishwasher model to ensure compatibility. When buying a new hinge make sure you purchase the correct one. You don t need it bone dry just dry enough that food particles aren t going to wash deeper into the bowels of your dishwasher when you pull out the filter. Furthermore they are battery operated making their placement more versatile and further easing the installation process. For energy efficient cleaning choose eco friendly or quick wash cycles when appropriate. By submitting your details you agree to our Terms and Conditions and understand our Privacy Policy. When working on your dishwasher unplug it before starting work to stay safe and avoid electrocution. Or the pros and cons of the model that I was looking at the GE Café double drawer dishwasher which is the only one I could find in my budget. Notify me of new posts by email. Have you checked your water temperature with a thermometer The water needs to be at 140 degrees to clean the dishes. Already have password reset code. The display will show 0 00 when you enter the setting mode. I have a Bosch and the drying cycle takes care of any wetness that might exist I use the Normal cycle. You ll be the first to know about new products services and sales at Rümi. Enamelled cast iron can t be seasoned. The racks are sturdy and prevent dishes from inadvertently leaning against each other a detail we appreciated during testing. Removable drawers to allow you to fit large bulky items when needed is also a good feature but not sure whether or not they all do that anyway. I had put that thing on and off several times before looking for other solutions. There should be three Torx head screws on each side of the door frame. I have been having the same problem dishwasher worked great for a year then suddenly dishes have emerged with caked food all over. Proper Storage To prevent scratches and maintain the integrity of your cookware stack pots and pans with soft protective liners between them.
