Hi everyone,
My Kenmore 363144596 dishwasher has stopped working, and I’d like to troubleshoot the problem myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this unit, or can help me out, I’d really value it. When I try to start a cycle, nothing happens: no lights, no water flow, and no sounds. It just died mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some help to troubleshoot it. Please don't share the owner's manual, I already have it and it’s not helpful.
Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I had a comparable issue with my Kenmore 363144596 dishwasher a few months ago, and I discovered a detailed service manual on the internet. It features detailed directions, electrical schematics, and diagnostic tips. Here’s the link, I discovered it on a blog through reddit :

Hi, help required please I too have a Kenmore 363144596 dishwasher, and I downloaded the repair manual mentioned above. Could anyone clarify how to test the power supply and what parts to test first? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the wiring schematics. Any advice would be great!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hello, I’m having trouble with my appliance too. I inspected the power supply, and the socket, evrything is working, but there’s no voltage at the terminal block. According to the schematic in the manual, I expect to have 120V there, right? How do I test the mainboard? Is my dishwasher totally faulty? The fuse seem good, I tested it with a multimeter. Any suggestions? 🤔

I believe my appliance has an electrical problem because it isn't starting. I’m not very experienced with repairs, but I’m open to give it a shot. I have a multimeter and some basic tools. Can anyone help me on how to begin? I’ve heard the mainboard, motor, or door switch could be the issue. Any suggestions would be helpful, can provide serial number if needed!

Avoid rushing into replacing parts right away. Depending on the problem, the approach to diagnosing issues may differ. Sometimes, devices are recalled for safety, and you can simply allow the manufacturer handle everything. Does your dishwasher have issues with the display, lights, or makes noises? Start with the basics by checking the power supply, door switch, and mainboard. It’s important to proceed step by step instead of hastily swapping parts like the mainboard or pump. First, check if the appliance is getting power. It’s as simple as that. Also, check the door switch and fuse. If you’re a total beginner in dishwasher repair, it might be better to call a service center to prevent causing more damage, even if it costs a bit more. They can easily identify the issue and find the faulty part. Then, it’s up to you whether you want to fix it yourself. (A tip: always disconnect the dishwasher prior to working on it).

Here’s my go-to checklist for troubleshooting a faulty dishwasher: Electrical Supply: Check the dishwasher is receiving power. Test the socket and terminal block too. Latch: Check for continuity. A broken wire can prevent the dishwasher from working. Thermal Fuse: Inspect if it’s blown. Replace it if necessary. Control Board: Inspect for visible damage or disconnected connections. Motor and Pump: Check for proper operation and ensure they’re working properly.
