Hi all,
My Kenmore 36315329100 dishwasher has quit working, and I’d like to diagnose the problem myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this machine, or can provide some advice, I’d really appreciate it. When I try to start a wash, nothing happens: no lights, no sounds, no water flow. It just died mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some guidance to troubleshoot it. Please don't share the user manual, I already have it and it’s not informative.
Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I have had a comparable problem with my Kenmore 36315329100 dishwasher a few months ago, and I discovered a detailed service manual online. It features detailed directions, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting hints. Here’s the URL, I found it on a blog through a subreddit :

Hi, assistance required please I too have a Kenmore 36315329100 dishwasher, and I downloaded the service manual shared above. Could anyone clarify how to check the power supply and what parts to test initially? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the wiring diagrams. Any suggestions would be great!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hi, I’m experiencing trouble with my appliance too. I checked the power supply, and the outlet, evrything is working, but there’s no power at the terminal block. According to the wiring diagram in the manual, I should have 120V there, correct? How do I test the control board? Is my appliance completely faulty? The fuses seem fine, I tested it with a multimeter. Any ideas? 🤔

I believe my dishwasher has an electrical issue because it isn't starting. I’m not very skilled with repairs, but I’m willing to give it a shot. I have a multimeter and some basic equipment. Can anyone guide me on where to begin? I’ve heard the control board, motor, or door switch could be the issue. Any suggestions would be helpful, can provide model number if required!

Don’t Rush into changing parts right away. Depending on the issue, the approach to diagnosing issues may vary. Sometimes, devices are recalled, and you can simply let the manufacturer handle everything. Does your dishwasher have issues with the screen, indicators, or makes sounds? Start with the basics by checking the power supply, latch, and control board. It’s crucial to proceed step by step instead of quickly swapping parts like the mainboard or motor. First, verify if the dishwasher is getting power. It’s as easy as that. Also, inspect the door switch and thermal fuse. If you’re a total beginner in appliance repair, it might be safer to call a service center to prevent causing more damage, even if it costs a bit more. They can easily diagnose the issue and identify the faulty part. Then, it’s your choice whether you want to replace it yourself. (A tip: always unplug the dishwasher before trying to repair it).

I think I damaged my dishwasher heating element while trying to swap the water valve. Now it won’t heat at all while operating. Is it possible I caused more issues? Something’s not working properly. I grabbed the Kenmore 36315329100 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll help me determine what went wrong. Hoping for the best...

This is my checklist for diagnosing a faulty dishwasher: Electrical Supply: Check the dishwasher is getting power. Check the outlet and terminal block as well. Door Switch: Check for continuity. A broken switch can stop the dishwasher from working. Fuse: Inspect if it’s blown. Swap it if needed. Mainboard: Inspect for obvious damage or loose connections. Pump and Motor: Test for continuity and ensure they’re functioning properly.
