Hello people,
My Kenmore 58715202801 dishwasher has stopped working, and I’d like to repair the problem myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this machine, or can help me out, I’d really be grateful. When I try to start a wash, nothing happens: no lights, no water flow, and no sounds. It just quit mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some guidance to get it working again. Please don't share the user manual, I already have it and it’s not helpful.
Thanks in advance for your support!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I have experienced a comparable problem with my Kenmore 58715202801 dishwasher a few months ago, and I found a comprehensive service guide on the internet. It features detailed instructions, electrical schematics, and troubleshooting tips. Here’s the link, I found it on a blog through a subreddit :

Hello, help needed please I also have a Kenmore 58715202801 dishwasher, and I got the service manual shared above. Could someone clarify how to test the electrical supply and what components to test first? I’m a bit confused by the electrical schematics. Any suggestions would be great!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hello, I’m experiencing trouble with my appliance too. I inspected the electrical supply, and the outlet, evrything is working, but there’s no voltage at the terminal block. According to the wiring diagram in the guide, I expect to have 120V there, correct? How do I test the mainboard? Is my dishwasher completely faulty? The fuses seem fine, I checked it with a multimeter. Any ideas? 🤔

I believe my appliance has an electrical problem because it won’t start at all. I’m not very tech savvy with fixing things, but I’m willing to give it a try. I have a current tester and some simple equipment. Can someone help me on where to begin? I’ve heard the control board, pump, or door switch could be the problem. Any advice would be appreciated, can provide serial number if needed!

Don’t Rush into replacing parts right away. Depending on the issue, the approach to troubleshooting malfunctions may vary. Sometimes, appliances are recalled for safety, and you can simply allow the company handle everything. Does your dishwasher have issues with the display, indicators, or makes noises? Start with the basics by checking the electrical connection, latch, and control board. It’s crucial to move step by step instead of quickly replacing parts like the mainboard or motor. First, check if the appliance is getting power. It’s as easy as that. Also, inspect the latch and fuse. If you’re a total beginner in appliance repair, it might be better to call a service center to avoid causing more issues, even if it costs a bit more. They can quickly identify the problem and find the broken part. Then, it’s up to you whether you decide to fix it yourself. (A tip: always unplug the appliance prior to working on it).

I think I damaged my dishwasher thermal resistance while trying to swap the water valve. Now it doesn’t heat at all while running. Is it likely I caused more issues? Something’s not working properly. I downloaded the Kenmore 58715202801 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll help me figure out what went wrong. Hoping for the best...

Here’s my checklist for troubleshooting a faulty dishwasher: Power Supply: Check the dishwasher is getting power. Test the socket and connection point too. Latch: Test for continuity. A broken wire can stop the dishwasher from starting. Fuse: Inspect if it’s blown. Swap it if needed. Control Board: Examine for obvious damage or disconnected connections. Pump and Motor: Test for proper operation and ensure they’re working properly.
