Hello all,
My Kenmore 58715363101A dishwasher has broken down, and I’d like to address the problem myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this machine, or can help me out, I’d really thank you. When I try to start a wash, nothing happens: no lights, sounds, or water flow. It just shut down mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some guidance to repair it. Please don't share the operating manual, I already have it and it’s not informative.
Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I have had a similar problem with my Kenmore 58715363101A dishwasher a few months ago, and I discovered a detailed service manual online. It features detailed instructions, electrical diagrams, and troubleshooting hints. Here’s the URL, I found it on a blog on a subreddit :

Hi, help required please I too have a Kenmore 58715363101A dishwasher, and I downloaded the service manual mentioned above. Could anyone clarify how to test the electrical supply and what components to test initially? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the electrical schematics. Any suggestions would be great!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hi, I’m having trouble with my appliance too. I inspected the electrical supply, and the outlet, evrything is working, but there’s no power at the connection point. According to the wiring diagram in the manual, I expect to have some voltage there, correct? How do I check the mainboard? Is my dishwasher completely faulty? The fuse seem good, I tested it with a voltage meter. Any suggestions? 🤔

I think my dishwasher has an electrical issue because it won’t start at all. I’m not very tech savvy with repairs, but I’m open to give it a shot. I have a multimeter and some simple equipment. Can anyone guide me on how to begin? I’ve heard the mainboard, motor, or door switch could be the issue. Any advice would be appreciated, can provide model number if required!

Avoid rushing into changing parts immediately. Depending on the problem, the method to diagnosing issues may differ. Sometimes, devices are recalled, and you can simply let the manufacturer handle everything. Does your dishwasher have problems with the display, lights, or makes sounds? Start with the basics by checking the power supply, latch, and mainboard. It’s important to move step by step instead of hastily replacing parts like the control board or pump. First, verify if the appliance is getting power. It’s as easy as that. Also, check the door switch and fuse. If you’re a complete beginner in dishwasher repair, it might be better to call a service center to prevent causing more damage, even if it costs a little extra. They can quickly diagnose the issue and find the broken part. Then, it’s your choice whether you want to fix it yourself. (A tip: always unplug the dishwasher before trying to repair it).

I believe I damaged my appliance thermal resistance while trying to swap the water inlet valve. Now it doesn’t warm up at all while operating. Is it likely I caused more damage? Something’s not working properly. I grabbed the Kenmore 58715363101A maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll help me determine what went wrong. Fingers crossed...

This is my checklist for troubleshooting a faulty dishwasher: Electrical Supply: Verify the dishwasher is receiving power. Test the socket and terminal block as well. Door Switch: Check for continuity. A faulty wire can stop the dishwasher from working. Thermal Fuse: Inspect if it’s blown. Swap it if needed. Mainboard: Inspect for visible damage or disconnected connections. Motor and Pump: Check for continuity and ensure they’re functioning properly.
