Hi everyone,
My Kenmore 66513339K605 dishwasher has broken down, and I’d like to repair the issue myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this model, or can help me out, I’d really thank you. When I try to start a cleaning cycle, nothing happens: no lights, no water flow, and no sounds. It just failed mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some assistance to get it working again. Please don't share the operating manual, I already have it and it’s not informative.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I experienced a comparable problem with my Kenmore 66513339K605 dishwasher a few weeks ago, and I discovered a detailed service manual online. It features step-by-step directions, electrical diagrams, and troubleshooting hints. Here’s the URL, I discovered it on a blog through reddit :

Hello, assistance needed please I also have a Kenmore 66513339K605 dishwasher, and I downloaded the repair guide shared above. Could someone explain how to check the electrical supply and what components to test initially? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the wiring diagrams. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hi, I’m experiencing trouble with my appliance too. I checked the power supply, and the socket, evrything is working, but there’s no power at the terminal block. According to the schematic in the guide, I expect to have 120V there, right? How do I test the mainboard? Is my dishwasher totally faulty? The fuse seem fine, I tested it with a multimeter. Any ideas? 🤔

I believe my dishwasher has an electrical issue because it won’t start at all. I’m not very tech savvy with fixing things, but I’m open to give it a try. I have a multimeter and some basic tools. Can someone help me on how to begin? I’ve heard the control board, motor, or door mechanism could be the problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated, can provide serial number if required!

Avoid jumping into changing parts right away. Depending on the issue, the method to troubleshooting malfunctions may vary. Sometimes, appliances are recalled for safety, and you can simply let the company handle everything. Does your dishwasher have issues with the screen, lights, or makes noises? Start with the fundamentals by checking the electrical connection, latch, and mainboard. It’s crucial to move step by step instead of quickly swapping parts like the control board or motor. First, check if the appliance is getting power. It’s as easy as that. Also, inspect the door switch and thermal fuse. If you’re a complete beginner in dishwasher repair, it might be better to call a repair shop to avoid causing more damage, even if it costs a bit more. They can easily diagnose the problem and find the faulty part. Then, it’s your choice whether you decide to fix it yourself. (A piece of advice: always unplug the appliance before trying to repair it).

I think I damaged my appliance heating element while trying to replace the water inlet valve. Now it won’t heat at all while operating. Is it possible I caused more damage? Something’s not working properly. I downloaded the Kenmore 66513339K605 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll help me figure out what went wrong. Hoping for the best...

Here’s my checklist for troubleshooting a faulty dishwasher: Power Supply: Check the dishwasher is getting power. Test the outlet and terminal block as well. Door Switch: Check for continuity. A broken wire can stop the dishwasher from working. Fuse: Check if it’s damaged. Replace it if needed. Mainboard: Inspect for obvious damage or loose connections. Motor and Motor: Test for proper operation and confirm they’re functioning properly.
