Hello guys,
My Kenmore 66513493N412 dishwasher has quit working, and I’d like to address the issue myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this machine, or can point me in the right direction, I’d really value it. When I try to start a wash, nothing happens: no lights, sounds, or water flow. It just stopped mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some assistance to fix it. Please don't share the operating manual, I already have it and it’s not informative.
Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I had a comparable issue with my Kenmore 66513493N412 dishwasher a few months ago, and I discovered a detailed service manual online. It features step-by-step directions, electrical diagrams, and troubleshooting hints. Here’s the link, I discovered it on a blog through reddit :

Hello, assistance needed please I also have a Kenmore 66513493N412 dishwasher, and I got the repair guide mentioned above. Could someone clarify how to test the power supply and what parts to inspect first? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the electrical diagrams. Any advice would be appreciated!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hi, I’m experiencing trouble with my dishwasher too. I checked the electrical supply, and the outlet, evrything is fine, but there’s no power at the connection point. According to the schematic in the manual, I should have 120V there, correct? How do I check the mainboard? Is my dishwasher completely faulty? The fuses seem good, I checked it with a voltage meter. Any suggestions? 🤔

I think my appliance has an electrical problem because it won’t start at all. I’m not very tech savvy with repairs, but I’m willing to give it a shot. I have a multimeter and some basic equipment. Can anyone help me on where to begin? I’ve heard the mainboard, pump, or door switch could be the problem. Any suggestions would be helpful, can provide serial number if needed!

Avoid rushing into replacing parts right away. Depending on the problem, the approach to diagnosing malfunctions may vary. Sometimes, devices are recalled, and you can simply allow the manufacturer handle everything. Does your appliance have problems with the display, lights, or makes sounds? Start with the fundamentals by checking the electrical connection, latch, and mainboard. It’s important to move step by step instead of quickly swapping parts like the control board or pump. First, verify if the appliance is powered on. It’s as simple as that. Also, inspect the door switch and thermal fuse. If you’re a complete beginner in appliance repair, it might be better to call a repair shop to prevent causing more damage, even if it costs a little extra. They can quickly identify the problem and find the faulty part. Then, it’s up to you whether you want to replace it yourself. (A tip: always disconnect the appliance before working on it).

This is my go-to checklist for troubleshooting a faulty dishwasher: Electrical Supply: Check the dishwasher is receiving power. Test the socket and terminal block too. Latch: Test for continuity. A faulty wire can prevent the dishwasher from starting. Thermal Fuse: Inspect if it’s blown. Swap it if needed. Mainboard: Examine for obvious damage or loose connections. Motor and Motor: Test for proper operation and ensure they’re functioning properly.
