Hello all, My Kenmore 66513973K012 dishwasher has failed, and I’d like to fix the issue myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this appliance, or can point me in the right direction, I’d really be thankful. When I try to start a cleaning cycle, nothing happens: no lights, sounds, or water flow. It just shut down mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some help to fix it. Please don't share the operating manual, I already have it and it’s not helpful. Thanks in advance for any assistance!

I experienced a similar issue with my Kenmore 66513973K012 dishwasher a few weeks ago, and I found a detailed service manual online. It includes step-by-step directions, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting tips. Here’s the link, I discovered it on a blog through reddit :
Hello, help needed please I also have a Kenmore 66513973K012 dishwasher, and I got the service guide mentioned above. Could someone clarify how to test the electrical supply and what components to test initially? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the electrical schematics. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Start by checking the basics:
1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model).
2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter.
3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.
Hi, I’m having trouble with my dishwasher too. I checked the electrical supply, and the outlet, evrything is fine, but there’s no voltage at the connection point. According to the schematic in the pdf, I should have some voltage there, right? How do I check the control board? Is my appliance completely faulty? The fuses seem good, I checked it with a multimeter. Any ideas? 🤔
I think my dishwasher has an electrical issue because it isn't starting. I’m not very skilled with repairs, but I’m willing to give it a try. I have a current tester and some simple equipment. Can someone help me on how to start? I’ve heard the mainboard, motor, or door switch could be the problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated, can provide serial number if required!
Avoid rushing into replacing parts immediately. Depending on the problem, the approach to diagnosing issues may vary. Sometimes, devices are recalled, and you can simply let the company handle the repair.
Does your appliance have issues with the display, lights, or makes sounds? Start with the fundamentals by checking the electrical connection, latch, and mainboard.
It’s crucial to proceed step by step instead of hastily replacing parts like the control board or pump. First, check if the appliance is getting power. It’s as easy as that. Also, check the latch and fuse.
If you’re a total beginner in appliance repair, it might be safer to call a service center to prevent causing more damage, even if it costs a bit more. They can quickly diagnose the problem and find the broken part. Then, it’s your choice whether you want to fix it yourself. (A piece of advice: always disconnect the appliance prior to trying to repair it).
I think I damaged my dishwasher thermal resistance while trying to replace the water inlet valve. Now it doesn’t warm up at all while operating. Is it possible I caused more damage? Something’s not right.
I downloaded the Kenmore 66513973K012 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll assist me figure out what went wrong. Fingers crossed...
Here’s my go-to checklist for troubleshooting a faulty dishwasher:
Electrical Supply: Verify the dishwasher is getting power. Test the outlet and terminal block too.
Door Switch: Test for continuity. A faulty switch can stop the dishwasher from starting.
Thermal Fuse: Inspect if it’s damaged. Swap it if necessary.
Control Board: Examine for visible damage or loose connections.
Motor and Pump: Check for continuity and ensure they’re functioning properly.
