Hello my good fellows, My Kenmore 66515699K212 dishwasher has stopped working, and I’d like to troubleshoot the issue myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this appliance, or can help me out, I’d really thank you. When I try to start a cleaning cycle, nothing happens: no lights, sounds, or water flow. It just shut down mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some support to get it working again. Please don't share the owner's manual, I already have it and it’s not helpful. Thanks in advance for any assistance!
Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum!
I have had a comparable problem with my Kenmore 66515699K212 dishwasher a few weeks ago, and I discovered a comprehensive service guide on the internet. It includes detailed instructions, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tips. Here’s the URL, I found it on a blog thanks to reddit :
Hi, assistance required please I too have a Kenmore 66515699K212 dishwasher, and I downloaded the service manual shared above. Could someone explain how to check the power supply and what components to inspect first? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the electrical schematics. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Start by checking the basics:
1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model).
2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter.
3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.
Hello, I’m experiencing trouble with my dishwasher too. I inspected the electrical supply, and the socket, evrything is fine, but there’s no voltage at the terminal block. According to the schematic in the manual, I expect to have 120V there, correct? How do I check the mainboard? Is my appliance completely dead? The fuses seem fine, I tested it with a multimeter. Any suggestions? 🤔
I believe my appliance has an electrical problem because it won’t start at all. I’m not very experienced with fixing things, but I’m willing to give it a shot. I have a current tester and some basic tools. Can someone guide me on how to begin? I’ve heard the control board, motor, or door mechanism could be the problem. Any advice would be helpful, can provide serial number if required!
Avoid rushing into changing parts immediately. Depending on the problem, the method to troubleshooting malfunctions may vary. Sometimes, appliances are recalled, and you can simply allow the manufacturer handle everything.
Does your dishwasher have issues with the screen, indicators, or makes noises? Start with the basics by inspecting the electrical connection, latch, and mainboard.
It’s crucial to proceed step by step instead of quickly swapping parts like the control board or motor. First, check if the appliance is powered on. It’s as easy as that. Also, inspect the latch and thermal fuse.
If you’re a total beginner in dishwasher repair, it might be safer to call a repair shop to avoid causing more damage, even if it costs a bit more. They can quickly diagnose the problem and find the broken part. Then, it’s up to you whether you want to replace it yourself. (A tip: always unplug the dishwasher before working on it).
I think I damaged my appliance thermal resistance while trying to swap the water valve. Now it doesn’t heat at all while operating. Is it likely I caused more damage? Something’s not working properly.
I grabbed the Kenmore 66515699K212 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll help me determine what went wrong. Hoping for the best...
This is my go-to checklist for troubleshooting a faulty dishwasher:
Electrical Supply: Verify the dishwasher is receiving power. Check the outlet and terminal block too.
Latch: Test for continuity. A broken wire can prevent the dishwasher from working.
Thermal Fuse: Inspect if it’s damaged. Swap it if needed.
Mainboard: Inspect for obvious damage or disconnected connections.
Pump and Pump: Check for continuity and ensure they’re functioning properly.
