Hello folks,
My Kenmore 66516013402 dishwasher has ceased functioning, and I’d like to diagnose the issue myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this machine, or can point me in the right direction, I’d really appreciate it. When I try to start a cycle, nothing happens: no lights or sounds, and no water flows. It just quit mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some assistance to troubleshoot it. Please don't share the user manual, I already have it and it’s not informative.
Thanks in advance for any assistance!

It features detailed directions, wiring schematics, and troubleshooting hints. Here’s the link, I found it on a blog through a subreddit :

Hi, help required please I also have a Kenmore 66516013402 dishwasher, and I downloaded the repair guide shared above. Could someone clarify how to check the power supply and what parts to test initially? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the wiring schematics. Any suggestions would be great!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hi, I’m having trouble with my appliance too. I checked the electrical supply, and the socket, evrything is fine, but there’s no voltage at the connection point. According to the wiring diagram in the guide, I should have some voltage there, right? How do I check the control board? Is my dishwasher completely faulty? The fuse seem good, I tested it with a voltage meter. Any ideas? 🤔

I believe my dishwasher has an electrical problem because it won’t start at all. I’m not very tech savvy with repairs, but I’m open to give it a try. I have a multimeter and some simple equipment. Can someone help me on where to start? I’ve heard the mainboard, motor, or door switch could be the issue. Any suggestions would be helpful, can provide serial number if required!

Avoid rushing into replacing parts right away. Depending on the issue, the method to troubleshooting malfunctions may differ. Sometimes, appliances are recalled, and you can simply allow the manufacturer handle everything. Does your appliance have issues with the display, indicators, or makes noises? Start with the fundamentals by inspecting the power supply, door switch, and control board. It’s important to move step by step instead of hastily replacing parts like the mainboard or motor. First, check if the dishwasher is powered on. It’s as easy as that. Also, inspect the door switch and fuse. If you’re a complete beginner in dishwasher repair, it might be better to call a service center to prevent causing more damage, even if it costs a bit more. They can quickly diagnose the issue and identify the broken part. Then, it’s up to you whether you want to fix it yourself. (A tip: always disconnect the dishwasher prior to trying to repair it).

Here’s my checklist for troubleshooting a faulty dishwasher: Electrical Supply: Verify the dishwasher is getting power. Test the socket and connection point too. Door Switch: Test for continuity. A broken wire can stop the dishwasher from working. Thermal Fuse: Check if it’s blown. Replace it if needed. Mainboard: Inspect for obvious damage or disconnected connections. Motor and Pump: Check for proper operation and ensure they’re working properly. Here’s what I discovered:

Gentle on your machine tough on stains. Personally I put my Ikea stainless steel pans with welded handles in without a second thought but I reserve my non stick Tefals with bolted handles for hand washing. Stainless steel retains heat conducting heat away from the dishes and condensing it into water that falls down into the drain. No one would judge you for assuming that a dishwasher uses a considerable amount of water with each load. Perfect for those on a busy schedule. You might not get enough moisture to cause mushy wallboard but chances are the insulation inside the wall is damp. Pre washing the dishes before adding them to the dishwasher is not necessary just scrape off leftover food bones toothpicks and other hard items from the dishes. You try to press various buttons and power it back on but it doesn t respond. How do I go about this safely. The first step is to stop the dishwasher s current cycle. I empathise op I hate washing up. This is another great freestanding dishwasher and it will set you back a lot less than the other connected models on our list. It is important to note that if you conduct any DIY work you must turn off the dishwasher at the mains or unplug the appliance in order to isolate the electric supply. But repair is often the smarter more cost effective solution and that s where UpFix comes in. These parts can carry current even when the dishwasher is switched off and unplugged. Make sure that you clear out the filter too because this can sometimes get clogged up with food. Using a rinse aid and unloading your dishwasher in the correct order should help but if extra dry plastic is a must consider either of our non Miele picks. If you always use the right detergent the dishwasher is level and there are no suds in the tub then RESET the power and run a cycle again with proper detergent.
