Hello my good fellows,
My Kitchenaid 5KSM150PSECZ4 dishwasher has ceased functioning, and I’d like to troubleshoot the problem myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this machine, or can help me out, I’d really be thankful. When I try to start a wash, nothing happens: no lights, sounds, or water flow. It just died mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some help to get it working again. Please don't share the owner's manual, I already have it and it’s not informative.
Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I have had a similar problem with my Kitchenaid 5KSM150PSECZ4 dishwasher a few months ago, and I found a detailed service manual on the internet. It features detailed directions, electrical schematics, and diagnostic tips. Here’s the link, I discovered it on a blog on reddit :

Hi, assistance required please I also have a Kitchenaid 5KSM150PSECZ4 dishwasher, and I downloaded the service manual mentioned above. Could someone explain how to test the power supply and what parts to test first? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the electrical diagrams. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hi, I’m experiencing trouble with my dishwasher too. I inspected the electrical supply, and the outlet, evrything is working, but there’s no voltage at the terminal block. According to the wiring diagram in the guide, I expect to have 120V there, right? How do I check the mainboard? Is my dishwasher totally dead? The fuse seem fine, I checked it with a voltage meter. Any ideas? 🤔

I believe my appliance has an electrical issue because it won’t start at all. I’m not very experienced with repairs, but I’m willing to give it a shot. I have a multimeter and some simple equipment. Can anyone help me on where to start? I’ve heard the mainboard, pump, or door switch could be the problem. Any advice would be appreciated, can provide serial number if needed!

Here’s my preferred checklist for troubleshooting a faulty dishwasher: Power Supply: Verify the dishwasher is receiving power. Test the outlet and terminal block as well. Door Switch: Test for continuity. A broken switch can prevent the dishwasher from starting. Thermal Fuse: Inspect if it’s blown. Swap it if necessary. Mainboard: Inspect for obvious damage or disconnected connections. Pump and Pump: Test for proper operation and ensure they’re working properly.
