Hello my good fellows,
My Kitchenaid 5KSM150PSRCU0 dishwasher has failed, and I’d like to repair the issue myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this machine, or can point me in the right direction, I’d really appreciate it. When I try to start a cycle, nothing happens: no lights, no sounds, no water flow. It just died mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some assistance to resolve the issue. Please don't share the user manual, I already have it and it’s not informative.
Thanks in advance for your support!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I have had a comparable issue with my Kitchenaid 5KSM150PSRCU0 dishwasher a few weeks ago, and I discovered a detailed service guide online. It features step-by-step directions, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting tips. Here’s the link, I discovered it on a blog on reddit :

Hi, assistance needed please I too have a Kitchenaid 5KSM150PSRCU0 dishwasher, and I downloaded the service manual mentioned above. Could someone clarify how to test the power supply and what parts to test first? I’m a bit confused by the electrical diagrams. Any advice would be great!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hello, I’m having trouble with my dishwasher too. I inspected the power supply, and the socket, evrything is fine, but there’s no voltage at the connection point. According to the wiring diagram in the manual, I expect to have 120V there, right? How do I test the control board? Is my appliance completely dead? The fuse seem good, I tested it with a multimeter. Any ideas? 🤔

I think my appliance has an electrical problem because it isn't starting. I’m not very experienced with repairs, but I’m willing to give it a shot. I have a multimeter and some simple equipment. Can anyone guide me on how to start? I’ve heard the mainboard, motor, or door switch could be the problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated, can provide serial number if required!

Avoid rushing into replacing parts right away. Depending on the problem, the approach to troubleshooting malfunctions may differ. Sometimes, devices are recalled for safety, and you can simply let the manufacturer handle the repair. Does your dishwasher have issues with the screen, lights, or makes sounds? Start with the basics by inspecting the power supply, latch, and mainboard. It’s important to proceed step by step instead of quickly swapping parts like the mainboard or pump. First, verify if the appliance is getting power. It’s as simple as that. Also, inspect the latch and fuse. If you’re a complete beginner in dishwasher repair, it might be safer to call a repair shop to avoid causing more damage, even if it costs a little extra. They can easily identify the issue and find the broken part. Then, it’s your choice whether you decide to fix it yourself. (A tip: always unplug the appliance before trying to repair it).

This is my go-to checklist for troubleshooting a faulty dishwasher: Power Supply: Verify the dishwasher is receiving power. Check the socket and terminal block too. Door Switch: Check for continuity. A broken wire can prevent the dishwasher from working. Fuse: Inspect if it’s blown. Swap it if needed. Control Board: Examine for obvious damage or loose connections. Motor and Motor: Test for proper operation and confirm they’re working properly.
