Hi people,
My LG D1472TB dishwasher has failed, and I’d like to address the issue myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this machine, or can point me in the right direction, I’d really be grateful. When I try to start a cleaning cycle, nothing happens: no lights, no sounds, and no water is flowing. It just quit mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some advice to resolve the issue. Please don't share the user manual, I already have it and it’s not informative.
Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I have experienced a comparable issue with my LG D1472TB dishwasher a few months ago, and I found a comprehensive service manual on the internet. It features step-by-step instructions, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic hints. Here’s the link, I found it on a blog on reddit :

Hi, assistance needed please I also have a LG D1472TB dishwasher, and I got the repair guide mentioned above. Could anyone clarify how to check the electrical supply and what parts to test first? I’m a bit confused by the wiring schematics. Any advice would be appreciated!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hi, I’m experiencing trouble with my appliance too. I checked the power supply, and the outlet, evrything is fine, but there’s no power at the connection point. According to the wiring diagram in the guide, I expect to have some voltage there, right? How do I test the mainboard? Is my appliance completely non-functional? The fuse seem good, I checked it with a voltage meter. Any ideas? 🤔

I believe my appliance has an electrical problem because it isn't starting. I’m not very skilled with fixing things, but I’m open to give it a try. I have a current tester and some basic tools. Can anyone help me on how to start? I’ve heard the control board, pump, or door mechanism could be the issue. Any advice would be helpful, can provide model number if required!

Avoid jumping into changing parts right away. Depending on the issue, the method to troubleshooting malfunctions may vary. Sometimes, devices are recalled, and you can simply allow the manufacturer handle everything. Does your dishwasher have problems with the screen, indicators, or makes noises? Start with the basics by checking the electrical connection, door switch, and mainboard. It’s crucial to proceed step by step instead of hastily swapping parts like the mainboard or pump. First, verify if the appliance is getting power. It’s as simple as that. Also, inspect the latch and thermal fuse. If you’re a complete beginner in dishwasher repair, it might be better to call a repair shop to prevent causing more issues, even if it costs a little extra. They can quickly identify the issue and identify the faulty part. Then, it’s up to you whether you want to fix it yourself. (A tip: always disconnect the appliance prior to trying to repair it).

I think I damaged my appliance thermal resistance while trying to swap the water valve. Now it won’t warm up at all while operating. Is it possible I caused more issues? Something’s not working properly. I grabbed the LG D1472TB maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll help me figure out what went wrong. Hoping for the best...

Here’s my go-to checklist for troubleshooting a malfunctioning dishwasher: Power Supply: Verify the dishwasher is getting power. Test the socket and connection point as well. Latch: Check for continuity. A broken switch can prevent the dishwasher from starting. Fuse: Inspect if it’s damaged. Replace it if necessary. Mainboard: Inspect for obvious damage or loose connections. Motor and Motor: Check for continuity and ensure they’re functioning properly. Here’s what I discovered:

According to Part Select a malfunctioning high limit thermostat can cause the heat to shut off before your dishes are fully dry. The greater the number of models that earn a recommendation the higher the recommended ratio score. we just installed new Kitchenaid dishwasher on our own. Load efficiently run full loads and scrape instead of rinsing. The filter is an integral part of the cleaning process. Quality tablets and packs have been proven better than powder liquid or gel detergents at reducing filming on dishes. The most likely cause is that a piece of debris from mineral deposits stuck in the inlet water valve. Share this page FacebookLinkedInX Twitter WhatsAppReddit. My next step would be to replace the sump and motor assembly just because that seems to have worked for some folks. IKEA sells one and it looks a lot like that metal foil super sticky tape used for heating ducts. A dishwasher makes cleaning up dishes easier and faster but finding the right one is often an uphill task. The G7000 series has a two year warranty for parts and labor which is the longest initial warranty of our picks. As long as your dishwasher runs hot you should be fine. Our appliances can use up quite a lot of electricity. The make and model of your dishwasher should be on a number plate on the inside of the machine. The ingredients in your cleaning products fall into several different categories added to provide different characteristics and cleaning functions. Fast function can reduce cycle times by up to 70. There are some wires I haven t been able to successfully trace yet but they seem to be sensing pins judging by the way they re wired up on the original controller board. If you notice any strange noises coming from your dishwasher then that s a sign that there s a problem with your pump or motor. I have the best flatware I chose here. The change should be almost instantaneous and when the tarnish has been removed wash under warm or cool water and dry thoroughly. But if you ve tried all these tips and the dishwasher isn t draining the problem could lie in a faulty dishwasher pump or in the dishwasher s timer or motherboard. The DUT25401X performed slightly above average during its normal cycle and slightly below average during its quick wash. Compared to traditional dishwashers which can use a significant amount of water per cycle countertop dishwashers require less water to get the job done. The sound of any dishwasher is measured in a special unit called decibel A abbreviated dB by which you can easily determine how loud or quiet the dishwasher is. This isn t right and you start to worry. Easy to measure out Most liquids are already pre measured so you don t have to worry about over or under filling your dishwasher. While it may feel like a product you just want to dip your toe in at first you ll soon join the ranks of every customer ever who regrets not investing in a full set outright. Ash glaze is a much earlier form of glaze that is still used today which began in around 10 00BC in China. Ignoring energy and water efficiency.
