Hello folks,
My LG LSDT9908BD00 dishwasher has broken down, and I’d like to repair the issue myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this machine, or can point me in the right direction, I’d really be grateful. When I try to start a cycle, nothing happens: no lights, no sounds, and no water is flowing. It just failed mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some help to fix it. Please don't share the owner's manual, I already have it and it’s not informative.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I experienced a similar problem with my LG LSDT9908BD00 dishwasher a few months ago, and I discovered a detailed service manual on the internet. It features step-by-step directions, electrical diagrams, and diagnostic hints. Here’s the URL, I discovered it on a blog on a subreddit :

Hello, help needed please I too have a LG LSDT9908BD00 dishwasher, and I downloaded the service manual mentioned above. Could someone clarify how to check the power supply and what components to test first? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the wiring diagrams. Any advice would be great!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hi, I’m experiencing trouble with my dishwasher too. I inspected the power supply, and the socket, evrything is working, but there’s no voltage at the terminal block. According to the schematic in the book, I should have 120V there, right? How do I check the control board? Is my dishwasher completely faulty? The fuse seem good, I checked it with a multimeter. Any suggestions? 🤔

I think my dishwasher has an electrical problem because it isn't starting. I’m not very tech savvy with fixing things, but I’m open to give it a shot. I have a current tester and some basic equipment. Can someone guide me on where to start? I’ve heard the mainboard, pump, or door mechanism could be the issue. Any advice would be appreciated, can provide serial number if required!

Avoid rushing into replacing parts immediately. Depending on the problem, the approach to diagnosing issues may differ. Sometimes, devices are recalled, and you can simply let the manufacturer handle the repair. Does your dishwasher have problems with the display, lights, or makes noises? Start with the fundamentals by checking the electrical connection, door switch, and control board. It’s crucial to move step by step instead of hastily swapping parts like the mainboard or pump. First, check if the dishwasher is powered on. It’s as easy as that. Also, inspect the latch and thermal fuse. If you’re a total beginner in appliance repair, it might be better to call a service center to prevent causing more damage, even if it costs a little extra. They can easily diagnose the issue and identify the broken part. Then, it’s your choice whether you want to fix it yourself. (A tip: always disconnect the dishwasher before working on it).

This is my preferred checklist for diagnosing a faulty dishwasher: Electrical Supply: Check the dishwasher is receiving power. Check the socket and terminal block too. Door Switch: Test for continuity. A faulty switch can stop the dishwasher from starting. Fuse: Check if it’s damaged. Swap it if needed. Control Board: Examine for visible damage or disconnected connections. Motor and Pump: Check for proper operation and ensure they’re working properly.
