Hello folks,
My Maytag DWU8702AAB dishwasher has ceased functioning, and I’d like to troubleshoot the problem myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this appliance, or can provide some advice, I’d really appreciate it. When I try to start a cleaning cycle, nothing happens: no lights, no water flow, and no sounds. It just quit mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some help to get it working again. Please don't share the user manual, I already have it and it’s not useful.
Thanks in advance for your support!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I have had a comparable problem with my Maytag DWU8702AAB dishwasher a few weeks ago, and I found a comprehensive service manual online. It features detailed instructions, electrical diagrams, and diagnostic tips. Here’s the URL, I discovered it on a blog through a subreddit :

Hello, assistance needed please I also have a Maytag DWU8702AAB dishwasher, and I got the service guide mentioned above. Could anyone explain how to check the electrical supply and what parts to test initially? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the wiring schematics. Any advice would be appreciated!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hi, I’m having trouble with my dishwasher too. I checked the power supply, and the outlet, evrything is fine, but there’s no voltage at the terminal block. According to the schematic in the pdf, I should have some voltage there, right? How do I test the control board? Is my appliance completely dead? The fuses seem good, I checked it with a multimeter. Any ideas? 🤔

I believe my appliance has an electrical issue because it isn't starting. I’m not very tech savvy with fixing things, but I’m open to give it a shot. I have a current tester and some basic tools. Can anyone help me on where to start? I’ve heard the control board, motor, or door mechanism could be the issue. Any advice would be appreciated, can provide model number if required!

Don't jump into changing parts right away. Depending on the issue, the approach to troubleshooting issues may differ. Sometimes, devices are recalled for safety, and you can simply allow the company handle the repair. Does your dishwasher have issues with the display, indicators, or makes sounds? Start with the fundamentals by inspecting the power supply, latch, and control board. It’s important to move step by step instead of hastily replacing parts like the mainboard or motor. First, verify if the appliance is getting power. It’s as simple as that. Also, check the door switch and fuse. If you’re a complete beginner in dishwasher repair, it might be safer to call a service center to prevent causing more issues, even if it costs a little extra. They can quickly identify the problem and find the broken part. Then, it’s your choice whether you decide to fix it yourself. (A tip: always disconnect the appliance before trying to repair it).

I believe I damaged my appliance thermal resistance while trying to replace the water valve. Now it doesn’t warm up at all while operating. Is it likely I caused more damage? Something’s not right. I downloaded the Maytag DWU8702AAB maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll assist me determine what went wrong. Fingers crossed...

Here’s my preferred checklist for diagnosing a faulty dishwasher: Electrical Supply: Check the dishwasher is receiving power. Check the socket and terminal block as well. Door Switch: Check for continuity. A faulty wire can prevent the dishwasher from starting. Fuse: Check if it’s damaged. Replace it if needed. Control Board: Examine for visible damage or disconnected connections. Pump and Pump: Test for proper operation and ensure they’re functioning properly.
