Hello guys,
My Norge NDU5CA20 dishwasher has broken down, and I’d like to troubleshoot the problem myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this machine, or can provide some advice, I’d really value it. When I try to start a washing cycle, nothing happens: no lights, no sounds, no water flow. It just shut down mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some guidance to fix it. Please don't share the user manual, I already have it and it’s not informative.
Thanks in advance for your support!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I have had a similar problem with my Norge NDU5CA20 dishwasher a few weeks ago, and I discovered a comprehensive service manual online. It includes detailed directions, electrical diagrams, and diagnostic hints. Here’s the URL, I found it on a blog thanks to reddit :

Hello, assistance required please I too have a Norge NDU5CA20 dishwasher, and I got the service guide shared above. Could anyone explain how to test the electrical supply and what parts to test first? I’m a bit confused by the wiring diagrams. Any advice would be appreciated!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hi, I’m having trouble with my appliance too. I checked the power supply, and the socket, evrything is working, but there’s no power at the terminal block. According to the wiring diagram in the guide, I should have some voltage there, right? How do I check the mainboard? Is my dishwasher totally dead? The fuses seem good, I tested it with a multimeter. Any ideas? 🤔

I think my appliance has an electrical problem because it isn't starting. I’m not very skilled with fixing things, but I’m willing to give it a shot. I have a current tester and some basic tools. Can someone guide me on where to begin? I’ve heard the mainboard, pump, or door switch could be the issue. Any advice would be helpful, can provide model number if needed!

Don't jump into changing parts right away. Depending on the issue, the approach to troubleshooting malfunctions may vary. Sometimes, appliances are recalled for safety, and you can simply let the manufacturer handle the repair. Does your dishwasher have issues with the screen, lights, or makes noises? Start with the basics by checking the power supply, door switch, and mainboard. It’s crucial to move step by step instead of hastily replacing parts like the control board or motor. First, check if the dishwasher is getting power. It’s as simple as that. Also, check the latch and fuse. If you’re a complete beginner in appliance repair, it might be better to call a repair shop to avoid causing more damage, even if it costs a bit more. They can quickly diagnose the problem and find the broken part. Then, it’s your choice whether you want to replace it yourself. (A piece of advice: always unplug the appliance before trying to repair it).

I believe I damaged my appliance heating element while trying to replace the water inlet valve. Now it doesn’t heat at all while running. Is it likely I caused more issues? Something’s not working properly. I downloaded the Norge NDU5CA20 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll help me determine what went wrong. Fingers crossed...

This is my go-to checklist for troubleshooting a faulty dishwasher: Electrical Supply: Verify the dishwasher is getting power. Check the socket and connection point too. Latch: Test for continuity. A faulty switch can stop the dishwasher from working. Thermal Fuse: Inspect if it’s damaged. Replace it if necessary. Control Board: Examine for obvious damage or disconnected connections. Motor and Motor: Test for proper operation and confirm they’re working properly.
