Hi all,
My RCA PSD765M20 dishwasher has quit working, and I’d like to repair the problem myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this unit, or can help me out, I’d really appreciate it. When I try to start a washing cycle, nothing happens: no lights, sounds, or water flow. It just stopped mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some support to get it working again. Please don't share the owner's manual, I already have it and it’s not useful.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I have had a similar issue with my RCA PSD765M20 dishwasher a few weeks ago, and I found a detailed service manual online. It includes detailed directions, electrical diagrams, and troubleshooting tips. Here’s the URL, I discovered it on a blog through reddit :

Hello, assistance needed please I also have a RCA PSD765M20 dishwasher, and I got the repair manual shared above. Could anyone clarify how to check the power supply and what parts to test first? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the wiring diagrams. Any advice would be great!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hi, I’m experiencing trouble with my dishwasher too. I inspected the power supply, and the socket, evrything is fine, but there’s no voltage at the connection point. According to the wiring diagram in the book, I should have some voltage there, correct? How do I test the control board? Is my appliance completely faulty? The fuses seem good, I tested it with a voltage meter. Any suggestions? 🤔

I think my dishwasher has an electrical issue because it won’t start at all. I’m not very experienced with repairs, but I’m willing to give it a shot. I have a current tester and some basic tools. Can anyone help me on where to begin? I’ve heard the mainboard, pump, or door mechanism could be the problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated, can provide serial number if needed!

Avoid rushing into replacing parts immediately. Depending on the issue, the approach to diagnosing malfunctions may vary. Sometimes, devices are recalled, and you can simply allow the company handle everything. Does your dishwasher have issues with the screen, lights, or makes sounds? Start with the fundamentals by inspecting the electrical connection, door switch, and control board. It’s crucial to move step by step instead of hastily replacing parts like the control board or pump. First, check if the appliance is getting power. It’s as easy as that. Also, inspect the door switch and fuse. If you’re a complete beginner in appliance repair, it might be better to call a repair shop to avoid causing more damage, even if it costs a little extra. They can quickly identify the problem and find the faulty part. Then, it’s up to you whether you decide to replace it yourself. (A tip: always unplug the dishwasher prior to working on it).

I think I damaged my dishwasher thermal resistance while trying to replace the water inlet valve. Now it won’t heat at all while operating. Is it likely I caused more damage? Something’s not right. I downloaded the RCA PSD765M20 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll assist me determine what went wrong. Fingers crossed...

Here’s my go-to checklist for troubleshooting a faulty dishwasher: Power Supply: Check the dishwasher is receiving power. Test the outlet and connection point too. Door Switch: Check for continuity. A faulty wire can stop the dishwasher from starting. Fuse: Inspect if it’s blown. Replace it if needed. Mainboard: Inspect for visible damage or disconnected connections. Pump and Pump: Check for continuity and ensure they’re functioning properly. Here’s what I found:

Way to test Repeat this 2 3 times if necessary. It s not something we tend to give much thought until that constant steady flow suddenly gets cut off. Having written product reviews on her own blog Real Mum Reviews since 2012 Lucy loves to research and explore the pros and cons of products scrutinising reviews and consumer feedback to help people make confident purchases. Have an old dishwasher in my rental unit that needed new springs. Plus there s a half load cycle option for smaller loads. When you unload the machine of your dishes look around inside to see if there is any build up of food anywhere. There is something badly wrong with your waste water plumbing if you are getting a reverse flow from sink to dishwasher as the setup should make this impossible. Fortunately numerous quality plastic free alternatives are available which are biodegradable and compostable allowing you to keep your kitchen clean without adding to plastic pollution. It seems like the cloudiness might be from tiny scratches which is why vinegar isn t helping. Don t worry there are plenty of easy DIY methods to maintain your dishwasher and if that s not enough we re always here to help. Pull out the sheetrock and look inside the wall. Always use a soft sponge never steel wool milk soap and warm water. Baking soda helps remove stains and freshen the interior. I think I will have fun showing it off to friends. If your dishwasher s power cord doesn t plug into an electrical outlet under the sink then the power supply is hardwired into the junction box. We have an open plan house so having a quiet dishwasher is important to us. Listen to your dishwasher while it s running a cycle. Still worked fine poor BrandsClub that the baskets couldn t be easily rolled Supervalu poor out. This will help to flush out any remaining debris. We may be compensated if you purchase through links on our website. Don t use them to open cans loosen screws etc. The middle and lower racks have collapsible and adjustable tines which allow for easy loading. This would allow the consumer to try out different behaviours and directly read the consequences for the individual resource consumption. I have tried all combinations of detergents and programme settings and nothing seems to make a difference. I haven t changed my detergent. It s also worth thinking about the type of dishwasher you are going for. With these practices your dishes will always emerge from the wash cycle gleaming and ready to use. If the pan has a protective coating has any wooden components such as a handle or is made from aluminum or cast iron then it is likely not dishwasher safe and needs to be washed by hand. In most cases dishwasher pods are compatible with various types of dishwashers including standard and high efficiency machines. I have high hopes that this will solve our problem.
