Hello my good fellows,
My Roper WU5755B0 dishwasher has ceased functioning, and I’d like to diagnose the issue myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this machine, or can offer suggestions, I’d really be thankful. When I try to start a washing cycle, nothing happens: no lights, sounds, or water flow. It just failed mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some assistance to fix it. Please don't share the operating manual, I already have it and it’s not useful.
Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I had a similar issue with my Roper WU5755B0 dishwasher a few weeks ago, and I found a detailed service manual online. It includes detailed instructions, electrical diagrams, and troubleshooting tips. Here’s the link, I found it on a blog on reddit :

Hello, assistance needed please I too have a Roper WU5755B0 dishwasher, and I downloaded the repair guide mentioned above. Could someone explain how to test the power supply and what parts to test first? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the wiring diagrams. Any advice would be appreciated!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hello, I’m experiencing trouble with my appliance too. I inspected the electrical supply, and the socket, evrything is working, but there’s no voltage at the terminal block. According to the schematic in the manual, I expect to have 120V there, right? How do I check the mainboard? Is my appliance totally dead? The fuses seem good, I checked it with a voltage meter. Any ideas? 🤔

I believe my dishwasher has an electrical issue because it won’t start at all. I’m not very experienced with fixing things, but I’m open to give it a try. I have a current tester and some basic equipment. Can anyone help me on where to begin? I’ve heard the control board, pump, or door mechanism could be the issue. Any advice would be helpful, can provide serial number if needed!

Avoid rushing into changing parts right away. Depending on the issue, the approach to troubleshooting issues may vary. Sometimes, appliances are recalled, and you can simply allow the manufacturer handle the repair. Does your appliance have issues with the display, indicators, or makes sounds? Start with the basics by inspecting the power supply, latch, and mainboard. It’s crucial to proceed step by step instead of quickly swapping parts like the mainboard or motor. First, verify if the dishwasher is powered on. It’s as easy as that. Also, inspect the door switch and fuse. If you’re a complete beginner in appliance repair, it might be safer to call a repair shop to avoid causing more issues, even if it costs a little extra. They can easily identify the issue and identify the broken part. Then, it’s your choice whether you want to replace it yourself. (A tip: always unplug the dishwasher before trying to repair it).

I believe I damaged my appliance heating element while trying to swap the water inlet valve. Now it doesn’t warm up at all while operating. Is it likely I caused more damage? Something’s not right. I downloaded the Roper WU5755B0 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll help me determine what went wrong. Hoping for the best...

This is my preferred checklist for diagnosing a malfunctioning dishwasher: Power Supply: Verify the dishwasher is receiving power. Test the socket and terminal block as well. Latch: Test for continuity. A faulty wire can stop the dishwasher from working. Fuse: Inspect if it’s blown. Swap it if needed. Mainboard: Inspect for obvious damage or disconnected connections. Motor and Motor: Test for continuity and ensure they’re functioning properly.
