Hello my good fellows,
My Thermador DW44FI21 dishwasher has stopped working, and I’d like to fix the problem myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this appliance, or can offer suggestions, I’d really value it. When I try to start a cleaning cycle, nothing happens: no lights, no sounds, no water flow. It just failed mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some advice to resolve the issue. Please don't share the user manual, I already have it and it’s not helpful.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Welcome to the Dishwasher Repair Forum! I have had a similar problem with my Thermador DW44FI21 dishwasher a few months ago, and I discovered a comprehensive service manual on the internet. It features step-by-step directions, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tips. Here’s the URL, I found it on a blog on reddit :

Hello, assistance needed please I also have a Thermador DW44FI21 dishwasher, and I downloaded the repair guide mentioned above. Could someone explain how to check the power supply and what parts to test first? I’m a bit confused by the wiring schematics. Any suggestions would be great!

Start by checking the basics: 1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model). 2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. 3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.

Hi, I’m having trouble with my dishwasher too. I inspected the electrical supply, and the socket, evrything is fine, but there’s no voltage at the connection point. According to the wiring diagram in the book, I expect to have 120V there, right? How do I check the control board? Is my dishwasher totally dead? The fuses seem fine, I checked it with a multimeter. Any suggestions? 🤔

I believe my appliance has an electrical problem because it isn't starting. I’m not very tech savvy with repairs, but I’m willing to give it a shot. I have a multimeter and some simple equipment. Can someone guide me on where to begin? I’ve heard the control board, motor, or door switch could be the issue. Any suggestions would be helpful, can provide serial number if required!

Don’t Rush into replacing parts right away. Depending on the problem, the approach to diagnosing issues may differ. Sometimes, devices are recalled, and you can simply let the company handle everything. Does your dishwasher have problems with the screen, indicators, or makes noises? Start with the basics by inspecting the electrical connection, door switch, and control board. It’s important to move step by step instead of quickly replacing parts like the mainboard or pump. First, verify if the dishwasher is getting power. It’s as easy as that. Also, inspect the door switch and fuse. If you’re a total beginner in appliance repair, it might be safer to call a repair shop to prevent causing more issues, even if it costs a bit more. They can easily diagnose the problem and find the broken part. Then, it’s up to you whether you want to replace it yourself. (A tip: always unplug the appliance before trying to repair it).

I believe I damaged my dishwasher heating element while trying to swap the water inlet valve. Now it doesn’t warm up at all while operating. Is it possible I caused more issues? Something’s not working properly. I downloaded the Thermador DW44FI21 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll help me determine what went wrong. Hoping for the best...

Here’s my checklist for troubleshooting a malfunctioning dishwasher: Power Supply: Verify the dishwasher is getting power. Check the socket and terminal block as well. Latch: Test for continuity. A broken wire can stop the dishwasher from working. Fuse: Inspect if it’s damaged. Swap it if needed. Mainboard: Examine for visible damage or loose connections. Motor and Pump: Test for proper operation and ensure they’re working properly.
