Hi my good fellows, My Whirlpool WDT710PAYE6 dishwasher has stopped working, and I’d like to fix the problem myself, so if anyone has a a repair guide or service manual for this appliance, or can provide some advice, I’d really thank you. When I try to start a washing cycle, nothing happens: no lights, sounds, or water flow. It just died mid-cycle yesterday. I’m looking for some guidance to fix it. Please don't share the operating manual, I already have it and it’s not helpful. Thanks in advance!

I have experienced a comparable issue with my Whirlpool WDT710PAYE6 dishwasher a few months ago, and I found a comprehensive service guide online. It includes step-by-step instructions, electrical schematics, and troubleshooting hints. Here’s the URL, I found it on a blog thanks to reddit :
Hi, help required please I too have a Whirlpool WDT710PAYE6 dishwasher, and I got the service manual shared above. Could anyone explain how to test the power supply and what parts to test first? I’m a bit confused by the wiring schematics. Any advice would be appreciated!
Start by checking the basics:
1. Power Supply: Use a multimeter to test the outlet and the terminal block where the power cord connects to the dishwasher. You should see around 120V (or 240V, depending on your model).
2. Door Switch: This is a common failure point. If the door isn’t fully closed or the switch is faulty, the dishwasher won’t start. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter.
3. Thermal Fuse: If the dishwasher overheated, the thermal fuse might be blown. Check it for continuity as well.
Hi, I’m having trouble with my dishwasher too. I inspected the electrical supply, and the outlet, evrything is fine, but there’s no power at the terminal block. According to the schematic in the book, I expect to have some voltage there, correct? How do I test the control board? Is my appliance totally faulty? The fuse seem good, I checked it with a multimeter. Any suggestions? 🤔
I believe my dishwasher has an electrical problem because it isn't starting. I’m not very skilled with repairs, but I’m open to give it a try. I have a multimeter and some simple tools. Can someone help me on where to begin? I’ve heard the control board, motor, or door switch could be the issue. Any suggestions would be helpful, can provide model number if required!
Avoid rushing into replacing parts right away. Depending on the issue, the approach to troubleshooting issues may differ. Sometimes, devices are recalled for safety, and you can simply let the company handle everything.
Does your appliance have issues with the screen, indicators, or makes sounds? Start with the basics by inspecting the power supply, door switch, and mainboard.
It’s crucial to move step by step instead of quickly swapping parts like the mainboard or motor. First, verify if the appliance is powered on. It’s as simple as that. Also, check the door switch and fuse.
If you’re a total beginner in appliance repair, it might be better to call a repair shop to avoid causing more issues, even if it costs a bit more. They can quickly diagnose the issue and find the broken part. Then, it’s your choice whether you want to replace it yourself. (A tip: always disconnect the appliance before trying to repair it).
I think I damaged my appliance heating element while trying to swap the water inlet valve. Now it won’t heat at all while operating. Is it possible I caused more issues? Something’s not working properly.
I grabbed the Whirlpool WDT710PAYE6 maintenance guide guide hopefully it’ll help me figure out what went wrong. Fingers crossed...
Here’s my go-to checklist for diagnosing a malfunctioning dishwasher:
Power Supply: Verify the dishwasher is getting power. Test the socket and terminal block too.
Door Switch: Test for continuity. A faulty switch can prevent the dishwasher from working.
Fuse: Check if it’s blown. Swap it if necessary.
Mainboard: Inspect for visible damage or loose connections.
Motor and Motor: Test for continuity and confirm they’re functioning properly.
